Bermuda Hex Rp Forum

RP'ing in Forums - Some forums are In Character only,- MY HOPE - is that this invests you into your character's persona, we get 4-5 hours a day live RP'ing and while that works, its often going to be very time sensitive RP, ie puzzles, combat, chase scenes, etc. The format for the RP forums are as follows: LOCATION : where you are DATE/TIME : day and time you are starting/stopping some behavior WHO : Who is around you, or who you are looking for. WHAT: what actions you actually perform (If rolls are required for your actions you'll need to enter the campaign, make your roll stating its purpose in the CHAT prior. THERE WILL BE NO FORUM BASED COMBATS If an event requires combat or more real time resolution - I will post that the RP is stopped at the time, on that date, for those players. The event will become part of the next session. Ect. All rolls need to be rolled in session, State the reason for the roll and make the roll then screenshot it and post it in this forum. A suggested Guide for Ic and OoC posting in a single forum follows. ((this was a scene out of MY first session of another campaign)) LOCATION : the docks, Sharn DATE : January 1st TIME : 2:30pm CHARACTERS : Zeed, Lexa, Kyhron, Volkovoy, Tomas, Quest, At the dock Zeed swoops in, in his angel outfit... If you adopt that sort of pattern in your posts, please denote the OoC commentary in a separate post or with some designation like double brackets or the like. LOCATION : the docks, Taer Valastras DATE : January 1st TIME : 2:30pm CHARACTERS : Zeed, Lexa, Kyhron, Volkovoy, Tomas, Quest, At he dock Zeed swoops in, ((in his angel outfit; 50ft from the water and maintains a hover)) "I am Come! Lo Goblins, For I bringeth you TEA!! TEA I SAY!!!"Personally I like the 3rd person non omniscient narrative style. What COULD an observer see if they were really watching. ie. Not this: Modnar thinks about that Vegan casserole on his plate... were there too many peas? was it too sweet!? THIS : Modnar sits behind what looks like a slumping pile of cooked vegetables. A glass casserole dish to the side holds the more attractive, er, congealed version of the pile. His eyebrows knit and he spits out a pea into a trash can. "Your overly sweet horde of green pea-ness is ejected" ((that would have been more humorous spoken aloud.. think about it - aaaayy, you did didn't you...tsk tsk))
Location: Necromancer's Cave Date/Time: Evening, Third day in Tantamar Who: Cicero, Qayin "In order to find discrepancies and catch them in an act of embezzlement? Quite the goal, if I may say so, friend." He nods, understanding that the devil is often in the details. Qayin's ethic in such matters is something of an enigma to Cicero. The man seems to possess a pinpoint accurate focus without error or outside distraction. In short, once this Mystic lays eyes on his goal, Cicero imagines that nothing short of a miracle could tear him from it. Amidst his musing, however, the Sorcerer catches sight of Qayin's wink, and the implications of the joke click in his mind. Seeking Arr- oh. OH. The tips of his ears flush a darker shade of blue. "Th-That was hardly my suggestion!" He sputters, backtracking. "That is to say, well, do as you wish, it pertains to a means to an end. Seeking Arrow ," He shakes his head, laughing in spite of himself.

Location: Necromancer's Cave, Bree's Tavern Date/Time: Midnight, Third Day in Tantamar/Morning, Fourth Day in Tantamar Who: Rusty, Evey, Cicero, Peri Singed and exhausted, Rusty retrieves the Necromancer's tome before looking the party over. The rag-tag group of castaways look utterly defeated as they discuss among themselves, regarding the fallen allies. "It's late. When you finish making your preparations for the dead it might be best to head toward's Bree's Tavern. If you don't see me in the morning, I'll catch up with you all later. I will take her with me, back to the tavern, " he points to the tied up woman. Silently, Rusty approached the woman, releasing her of her bonds. With a self targeted Healing Word, he began the trek back to the his temporary dwelling. Along the walk, Rusty considered the possibility that he had been semi responsible for Qayin's death, but dismissed the idea. With Dispel Magic, there wouldn't have been any safe way to bring him out from under the Necromancer's spell. He would have been an eccentric character in Rusty's potential tale. But that chapter had ended. Rusty, unsure if the prisoner had the funds for lodging, paid 2 SP for a room for Evey before promising a two-part performance for the tavern to make up for missing tonight's. Most night, patrons don't appreciate slow and creeping renditions. Having not performed vocally, Rusty waited for the right circumstance to present his prized, but unnatural, attribute. "Bree, in the morning, my tune with be much more cheery that it would be tonight. The others should arrive sometime during the night, however, we have lost two of our own. Might you help them with whatever funeral they might find fitting?" Rusty begins to head back to his room before remembering, "Oh, and would you happen to know where I can find a magic shop or the local mage guild? I have an item in my possession that I would like to try to gain money off of."
Location: Necromancer's Cave Date/Time: Midnight, Third Day in Tantamar Who: Rusty, Evey Evey had resigned herself to her fate long before the adventurers arrived. Her recent readings had been fairly negative, with her drawing Death right before she fought the necromancer. She had spent her time in captivity chiding herself for assuming she could defeat him alone. Though by the time the actual fight had started, Evey had weakened from exhaustion and dehydration. Her eyes were slow to follow the fight, but still she focused on success for the group that were to be her saviors. Manifestation requires intent. That was lesson one. But as Evey had watched people die, she cringed and wondered how much her intent was really able to affect destiny. As the kind man cut her ties and she finally had some water, she felt a deep sadness for the dead. Now, she looked at the man who offered to accompany her to the bar. Her head dropped and her eyes focused on the floorboards, before she weakly said to him "I'm sorry for your fallen. I wish I could have helped in some way." Evey took out her cards and shuffled them idly as they walked. "My name is Evangeline, but you can call me Evey. Thank you for saving me."
Location: Bree's Tavern Date/Time:  Midnight, Third day in Tantamar Who:  Rusty and Bree Bree will grimace as Rusty tells her the news of his fallen allies and will ask "Who fell? Don't tell me it was little Peri my heart couldn't take it."  She then centers herself, taking in a deep breath and wiping away any forming tears in her eyes. She looks to Rusty and gives him a warm, motherly hug and says "You don't have to play tonight for a room hun, it's on the house for your group, I'll see what I can do about getting your friends a spot on Ancestor Island, don't you worry just take the night to sleep all this off." She then yells to the back of the bar "Jeremy! Wake your ass up and man the bar, I'm heading out!" With that a sleeping human jolts up from his table and very groggily says "Yes Ma'am *yawns* Whatever you say" He then walks around the bar and begins to clean the counter, resting his head on his arm as he does so to try and continue his sleep. "Have a coffee or something Jeremy because if I come back and you're sleeping on the job I don't think your going to be waking up!" With that Jeremy gets wide eyed and runs to the back to grab a cup of coffee before continuing his work, it's obvious the boy thinks Bree isn't joking when she says that. Bree will leave the tavern and will return in the morning with news for the party about Ancestor Island.
Location: Necromancer's Cave Date/Time: Midnight, Third Day in Tantamar Who: Rusty, Evey "And you can call me Rusty. We didn't know anyone else would be in that cave. Did you go on your own or were you hired?" Outside, the land was quiet, but there was a feeling of uneasiness. Hopefully that was just his projection onto the land around him. Rusty thought it odd that a Necromancer would have actively preserved life, maybe it had something to do with the cards she possessed? He didn't feel the urge to ask but loved to story potential. Hopefully one of these people would finally inspire him.
Location: Bree's Tavern Date/Time: Midnight, Third day in Tantamar Who: Rusty and Bree Not meaning to worry Bree more than he had to, Rusty responded, "No, Peri is well enough alive. We lost Cy and Qayin, if you had met them. I'm sure the other two will be relieved by your generosity, you are too kind." Bree rushes off into the night without fulfilling Rusty's inquiries, so he turns himself to the newly caffeinated bartender, "Jeremy, was it? Would you happen to know where I can find a magic shop or the local mage guild in town? "
Location: Necromancer's Cave Date/Time: Midnight, Third Day in Tantamar Who: Peri, Cass, Cicero Rusty had recovered consciousness sooner than poor Cicero, and he searched the necromancer's body while Peri and Cass dealt with Red and Barefeet. Not needing to be careful meant he was much quicker, and he left in a hurry, taking the necromancer's silent prisoner with him.  After Peri finished carefully packing those of Red's belongings that it seemed right to keep, she collapsed with her back against the wall and took a minute to quietly cry. Cass,  apparently busy with Barefeet's flasks, let her be, and Peri closed her eyes and took a little while to silently talk to her Friend. After the little rest she had recovered enough to muster a quiet healing word that brought their Bluebird blinking slowly awake.  "Well," Peri said bracingly . "We're still here, and that's something. Can we carry them back, so you think? I mean, they're too heavy for me. I could carry a head, though, we probably need proof we got him, right? Should we burn the twice-dead things and then back to the city, do you think?"
Location: Bree's Tavern Date/Time: Midnight, Third day in Tantamar Who: Rusty and Jeremy Jeremy takes a long sip of his coffee and looks to Rusty "You can head over to the North Eastern side of town, that's where the mages have their guilds and shops. Just head East of House Thuranni and you'll see it, just be prepared, some of those mages are pretentious, others are just annoying but talk to Sanis the guild leader of the wizard's guild, he's pretty kind and really wise. I'm sure if you are looking to join up in any of the guilds he can help you out." He begins to wipe down the table, now more thoroughly than before thanks to the coffee.
Location: Necromancer's Cave Date/Time: Midnight, Third Day in Tantamar Who: Rusty, Evey "I was not hired. It was a Fool's journey." Evey gave a dry chuckle, as if sharing a private joke. Then, she overturned the first card of her deck, revealing the Fool and showing it to Rusty in the manner of an apathetic magician. "I should have known better than to go in there alone. I'm lucky that you and your friends showed up. Kismet, as my people would say." Evey looked at the moon, waned slightly. She released a breath filled with tension and then looked to Rusty. "Were you very close? With the ones who...who died?"
Location: Necromancer's Cave Date/Time: Midnight, Third Day in Tantamar Who: Rusty, Evey "We were all castaways, but we hadn't known each other before a few days ago. I hardly interacted with Cy but Qayin... well, it might be best to not speak ill of the dead." Rusty's Dissonant Whisper attack against the controlled Qayin briefly rose in his mind. Qayin had attacked first, attacking Rusty twice before overcoming the Necromancer's spell. Overall, he believed Qayin would have faced the same fate, regardless of the massive hit. "Why would care so much about a Necromancer that you would go alone to fight one, without pay?"
Location: Necromancer's Cave Date/Time: Midnight, Third Day in Tantamar Who: Rusty, Evey Evey's eyebrows raised slightly as Rusty implied that he hadn't got on with those who had passed, but she said nothing in response. "Why would care so much about a Necromancer that you would go alone to fight one, without pay?" Evey looked at Rusty, deciding that she could trust him, at least with the basics. "I have to prove my worth in order to become a Priestess in my village. I can be...quite powerful...when luck is on my side. But bibaxt be damned, the cards were not kind to me. Though I believe that means I was supposed to meet you all for some reason."
Location: Necromancer's Cave Date/Time: Midnight, Third Day in Tantamar Who:  Peri, Cass, Cicero  The world was dark, red with pain, and white with a helplessness Cicero had only known once before. His vision had blurred as fire rained down in that instant, and he knew only heat and agony. He had heard screams, footsteps, and the sound of falling bodies. Then, there was nothing. Nothing, that is, until a soft warmth came upon him and his eyes opened slowly to meet the world.  Cicero stirred as he came to, white eyes blinking at the dregs of the poison that still ran in his veins. He struggled to sit up, but the sight alone caused the sorcerer to freeze, eyes wide. Bodies, two bodies too many. Cy, Qayin. No, no they aren't dead. They have to be unconscious, asleep, recovering, oh hell. Look what you've done.   "Peri..." His voice came out hoarse, and he shook his head. There was fear there, sorrow he wasn't able to place. Cicero's mind lept to his old life, his old ship and chains and the death that had stained those decks. That wasn't the same as this. Here, death left faces behind, and they seemed to be staring through him. "Peri...this is all my fault."
Location: Necromancer's Cave Date/Time: Midnight, Third Day in Tantamar Who: Rusty, Evey "It sounds like you need to make your own luck." Rusty briefly ponder before continuing, "Do your short comings come from the predictions presented to you in the cards, or your failure to follow their path? You did say before that your cards predicted failure, yet you continued anyway, yet you also attribute our meeting on fate. From a narrative point-of-view, it seems you suggest that free will and fate can coexist at the same time to produce the same outcome." Yes... yes , Rusty thinks to himself, maybe she will be my source of inspiration. Maybe she can provide the complexity I need for a creation worthy of bardic immoralization. It would be a shame is her cards, or her failure to heed them, shortened her life, her influence.
Location: Necromancer's Cave Date/Time: Midnight, Third Day in Tantamar Who: Peri, Cass, Cicero "How do you figure that?" Blue boy's strange beautiful eyes were tearing up, and Peri helped him sit up, patting his shoulder as she did. " Stars, you were the only one of us walnuts who kept to the plan. 'Even if there's like a zillion zombies we go straight for the caster!'" she said in high-pitched parody of her own voice. " We knew killing the necromancer would drop the minions, is just hard to remember that when there's skeletons filling you with arrows." Reminded of exactly why everything hurt right then, she used a healing word on herself as well, and gingerly prodded at the fresh tender scar where the arrow had cut a furrow in the meat of her shoulder. "We all did the best we could, and that's all there is to it. We'll do better at communicating with each other next time. And, well..." She sat down heavily. "If this were easy I guess everyone would do it, huh."

Location: Necromancer's Cave Date/Time: Midnight, Third Day in Tantamar Who: Rusty, Evey Evey's tone became less casual and more formal, as if she were responding to the question posed by a mentor. "The problem arises from my reading of the cards. It's easy to say that in hindsight they tell me exactly what I needed to know, but it's true. I'm a student, and despite my fluency in my readings, I still make many mistakes. One of them being that reading for my own future is...very difficult. I tend to be too optimistic. The Death card can represent an actual death or failure, but more often than not is just represents some kind of unavoidable change. A big change, at that. I hoped that it was referring to my victory over the necromancer and thus becoming a Priestess. Unfortunately, my optimism nearly killed me this time around." Evey paused for a moment. "Oh, and of course fate and free will can coexist! The cards are predictive, but they only show you what will happen on your current course of action. Had I decided instead to stay at home or to travel to a city to join another group of adventurers, perhaps my reading would have been different."

Location: Bree's Tavern Date/Time: Late Morning, Sixth Day in Tantamar Who: Khord, Bree Khord wakes up from a nightmare and absentmindedly comes down without armor on. He notices the gawking, open stares, and whispers. A year later and he still wasn't used to being the center of attention just because of his mangled looking arm and his garish scar that covers a large chunk of the right side of his head. He decides it is too late to put the armor on and tries to ignore the looks as best as he can. He subconsciously rubs the scar as he thinks about the past, slowly walking to the bar. He sits down and asks for a drink and takes a swallow before asking Bree, "Do you know where I can find a good blacksmith and a place to get some basic supplies for a decent price?"
Location: Bree's Tavern Date/Time: Late Morning, Sixth Day in Tantamar Who: Khord, Bree Bree, rearranging the alcohol on the shelf behind her, says to Khord " Aye there's a blacksmith not too far from here in the south of town, owner's name is Bertran, he's a decent blacksmith and will spruce up your armor for a decent price. If you want to spend a little more dough though, you could always head over to Thorin's shop up near the Colosseum, great blacksmith that Thorin, came from Stonerift and set up shop right in the middle of town. Best blacksmith we've seen around these parts in a long time. A basic supplies shop can be found on the middle islands, there's Berny's Shack, Jarod's Corner, Tiffany's tools, they're really all just the same place with different names though, nothin' too special" She finishes up arranging the shelf then begins cleaning used mugs. "Anything else ya need to know?" She says with a smile.
Location: Bree's Tavern Time: Noonish/ late morning Who: Bara Finishing up his letter, Bara ambles back downstairs in his gear with a grin. Beaming a broken tusked smile at Bree, he looks to the group and bellows " So who's up for some combat drills? I need to see what you all can do so I can be a part of the unit!"
Location: Bree's Tavern Date/Time: Late Morning, Sixth Day in Tantamar` Who: Khord, Bree, Bara Khord smiles a little, relieved that she didn't really react or show pity seeing him, " Nah, that's enough for me, just wanted some basic information. " Looks up as he hears Bara and Stands up heading to his room as he responds over his shoulder, " Sounds good to me, besides I should spar some everyday so I don't get rusty anyway. Let me just go get my armor. " Heads up to his room and puts on his armor, feeling more relaxed as soon as he feels the cool metal on his skin. He heads back down after donning his armor with his spear in his hands. Looks at Bara and motions outside. " I'm ready anytime, could use a good exercise to loosen up for the day. "
Location: Bree's Tavern Date/Time: Late Morning, Sixth Day in Tantamar` Who: Khord, Bree, Bara, Rusty Rusty sighs, "Combat isn't the only thing a group needs. I prefer to stay in the back and support all of you as you go down. If you are looking for something militarily structured, you might be disappointed," Rusty laughs.
Location : The Keep Date/Time : The Battle of Tantamar Who :Major Bara Gro-shub Recalling the olden days of defending against superior forces, Bara strides back and forth, barking at guard and gladiator alike to form ranks. " ANYONE WITH A SHIELD UP FRONT, PIKEMEN BEHIND THEM, ARCHERS AND CROSSBOWMEN FORM SEPARATE RANKS ON ANY SCRAP OF HIGH GROUND. WE NEED THIS SHIELD WALL TO FUNNEL THEM TOWARDS AS NARROW A POINT AS POSSIBLE, SO FORM AN INVERTED V LINE. I MYSELF WILL BEAR THE BRUNT OF THE ONSLAUGHT, IF ANY OF YOU HAVE THE STONES TO BE AT THE CENTER POINT, YOU MAY JOIN ME." Grabbing a scrawny soldier by the shoulder, Bara softly says " If we are to have a hope of surviving this we'll need healers, get to the mainland and gather every cleric from every temple that you can. I have allies who are rallying the mages as we speak."
Location : The Keep Date/Time : The Battle of Tantamar Who :Major Bara Gro-shub and Jimmy the Guard Looking at the giant half orc barking orders, shivering Jimmy the Guard says "W-w-w-we don't have any clerics in town. All the medics from the arena are here. The c-c-church doesn't have anyone that can cast healing spells, and it's not like they would help us anyway." The scrawny looking soldier looks up to Bara, scared to all hell and says "S-s-sir? Shouldn't we try to evacuate the city rather than fight? I love this city sir b-b-b-but I don't want to die!"  A couple of the soldiers around Jimmy start to nod their heads in agreement, the citizens are escaping right now, why are they being left behind to die? A murmur starts to break out in the crowd of guards huddled at the docks where Bara is, fear slowly rising among the ranks.
Location : The ship Date/Time : Directly after the battle for Tantamar Who : Peri, Cicero  Cicero's back, pressed against Peri's, seemed to be quivering very slightly, and while he had sluiced the worst of the gore off in seawater the same as the rest of them there had to still be the tacky remnants of blood about his person just as there was about Peri's; so even though she was wavering from lack of sleep, she stayed to provide what small support she could. Whatever he was doing, it wasn't a magic Peri recognized...which reminded her,  and she dug in her pockets to find the little thing.  It was a book, quite small and blood-soaked. Ernan had passed it into her hands as he died in her arms, whatever he planned to say cut off as the life left his body, and she thumbed through it now for the first time. It was a spell book, very simple (especially to someone who knew Primordial), full of little cantrips like her Light spell. A teacher to the end, she thought sorrowfully, and paged through the book, looking at all the pages not rendered unreadable by blood. She stopped at one page, not really knowing why, and mouthed the words of the spell silently to herself. I THINK THIS ONE WILL SUIT YOU WELL, DEAR ONE, came the voice of her Friend, and she smiled faintly. "I think so too," she agreed quietly, and pulled out her notebook to begin copying it down.
Location : The ship Date/Time : Directly after the battle for Tantamar Who : Peri, Cicero Sitting crosslegged, Cicero's eyes remained closed as he went through every ritual of his morning routine, over and over and over again as his mind replayed those final moments of their battle. The wound from John Crossbarrows' bolt in his side still seeped blood with the smallest movements, but the bandages and gauze was enough to stabilize and begin the healing process. He began the ritual again. Peri's back against his was a comfort he hadn't known himself to require, but with the simple rhythm of the small boat, he ball of lightning he manifested held a tempo as he moved from one form to another. The ball became a small spiral, moving into thin tendrils stemming from his fingers, then it dissipated, and he'd call it back again and start the forms over, again and again until his mind began to wander and the lightning fizzled into nothingness. Cicero thought of the festival, of the joy that their group had experienced just being  with one another, singing together and drinking as though there were no tomorrow to come. How could they have known, then, that there wouldn't be another sunrise for Tantamar?  The egg.  His eyes grew wide in that moment, and he rifled through his pack, searching for the little egg coated in gold. The warmth of his Prestidigitation brushed against his hand, and he produced the small piece of life, thanking whatever god that Father Don had chosen as his own that it still remained whole. At least one thing did. He thought bitterly, and he leaned back against Peri once more. "I asked their names, Peri." He murmured aloud, holding the egg close against his chest. "Oliver..Gregory...and a third who never got the chance. I asked their names... I don't want to forget them, but I fear that I may. Peri..." His eyes stared out at the ocean surrounding them, the sight still stirring the fear that came from memories he didn't wish to recall. "Were we right to have stayed?"

Location : The ship Date/Time : Directly after the battle for Tantamar Who : Peri, Cicero Peri heaved in a great breath and released it in a sigh that seemed to come up straight from her toes. " The first--well. " She picked a blank page from Ernan's little book, and busily scratched away in it as she continued: " The second-- I don't know. I sure didn't want to! " Cicero's back stiffened and it occurred to her that that had been an un-tactful thing to say, so she continued brightly, " Well, but we did, and it's done, and lots of people died but you and me and Cass and Bara and the dragon guy and the gnome and stupid powerful Lady Theranni and that nice Captain Janzyn and a lot of guards all lived. And it definitely sounded like a lot of the citizens got out too. And the guards at the keep were planning to fight whether we were there or not, and may be they would have just died sooner if we weren't there rather than lasting long enough for most people to escape. So were we right ? " Peri turned around and got up onto her knees to hug as much of Cicero from behind as she could get her arms around (which was surprisingly a lot, he was super skinny). " I don't know, buddy. I really don't. But we did our best, and that's all anyone can do! " She pulled one arm back, ripped the page of the book out, and stuck it through the gap between his arm and body to wave it in front of his face. He took it, slowly. Gregory, Oliver , read the short list. " You can add more if there's anyone else you're afraid of forgetting, and then you won't forget because it's written down. " She reseated herself. " Just let me know when you're done, okay? We'll wash up properly and change and then we can sleep. Things will look better after we've slept. "
Location : The ship Date/Time : Several hours after boarding the ship Who : Khord, Bara Waking up from another nightmare, he looks around slowly coming to his senses. "Oh Shit, that wasn't another nightmare." After staring at nothing for several minutes he finally gets up and heads to the side of the boat looking at the sea silently, thinking about the past. Listing off all the names and ranks of the men he lost before, adding more names to the list today. Finishing up the list he looks at his broken hands and clenches them slowly, almost savoring the pain, mumbling to himself. "I failed again... Even more people died this time." He Grabs Otis' sword and shield and after looking at them for a long while he looks around and spots Bara and waves him over, "Hey Bara, come here for a second."
Location : The ship Date/Time : Several hours after boarding the ship Who : Khord, Bara Bara only weeps, knowing that the journal full of years of letters he'd written his daughter were gone. Knowing that when he felt Kelemvor's peaceful guidance once more and finally crossed over into the afterlife, he'd have nothing to give his daughter. No proof that he'd thought of her every day, that he remembered her, that it was her presence guiding him towards kindness and peaceful thought. All that remained of his letters was the tattered scrap of a faded blue banner he'd been writing on before the battle. The only words that remained legible were " Keep hope alive ."
Location : The ship Date/Time : Several hours after boarding the ship Who : Khord, Bara Khord looks at Bara for a few moments before looking at the shield and grabs a small etcher and a hammer with his still badly broken hands. "What does death mean to you? What does your deity say it means? Why does it have to happen to good people?" Khord slowly and painfully begins etching names onto the dented shield. Grimacing with each hit, the pain stopping the words he started spitting out in disgust. "Why... is it... that my... failures cause other people to die... and not me? Why do they have to die and all I got was another nightmare?" He goes silent as he continues to slowly, painfully, and messily, etch each name of the people he once knew on the shield. His mangled body emanating an aura of anger, despair, and self-loathing that grows with each hit of his hammer.
Location : The palace Date/Time : midday, the second day in Regalport  Who : Peri, Cicero The others had already left, some to go to their new house, others to attend to other businesses of their own, and Peri was left on her own waiting. Which was fine! She made friends with some of the handmaidens and got some information on where to start getting things for her garden from a straight-faced but very nice guard named Banner. Still, when Cicero reappeared she seized his hand and shook it back and forth scoldingly. " What was with the face, Bluebird? You just left!  I was worried! Not that I thought the prince would kidnap you or something, but this is a new place and we've all been through-- " she cut herself off. She wasn't the most perceptive person in the group but there were some things that she noticed very well indeed and her eyes zeroed in on the signs of little bits of forest debris and on a leaf in his pale hair. " Cicero ," she said, in tones of absolute betrayal.

Location: The palace of Regalport Date/Time: midday, second day in Regalport Who: Peri, Cicero The Air Genasi's head still spun as he made his goodbye to Prince Rygar, a smile there where he'd had trouble producing one in their week of travel. The oak leaf shook a little in the light breeze about him, and all at once, Peri was there, seizing his hand and speaking at a thousand miles an hour. He struggled to keep up, but her change in tone yanked his mind back from the image of His Majesty, talking of adventures and golden leaves and luck.  Cicero met her eye, followed her gaze to the leaf in his hair, and he realized his mistake. "A-Alright, Peri? I know this looks bad, but let me explain-" His words stumbled over themselves, and he held out his hands between them, as if that would fend her off. "I had, um, asked Prince Rygar about the Golden Oak district after everyone left...and he suggested..." Cicero took a breath, preparing for the worst. "...that he...show me himself." The tips of the sorcerer's ears turn a darker shade of blue. He covered his face with his hands. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I know you wanted to go, and you and he talked about 'Party Trees' during the dinner, and he was there and we talked, and he put this leaf in my hair, and he's wonderful, really, he's..." Cicero's hand moved down his face to cover his mouth as he trailed off, his gaze turning once more to the mahogany doors. "He's wonderful..." He spoke softly, almost wistful in the afternoon sun.
Location: The palace of Regalport Date/Time: midday, second day in Regalport Who: Peri, Cicero Peri folded her arms and sighed, heavily. He was so happy, and his cheeks were flushing so darkly that his freckles were almost invisible...it made her almost want to let it slide. Almost. "Bluebird. I'm happy that you're happy, and I'm happy that you like the Prince so much, but you owe me! You owe me so big ! You have to tell me everything ." Cicero opened his mouth and she waved a hand, hissing quietly, "You can keep the pants-feelings private, but tell me about the trees! Was there for real a Party Tree? I knew he knew something more about Party Trees than he was saying, although I really do understand that sometimes you wanna keep that stuff to yourself." The leaf in his hair really was lovely, and Peri's little flower in his lapel looked sad and wilted in comparison. She flicked her fingers, the movements still more careful than instinctual, and Druidcrafted it back to life. "Tell me everything he said   about the trees."
Location: The palace of Regalport Date/Time: midday, second day in Regalport Who: Peri, Cicero Cicero turned back to his friend, hope lying there for the first time in a while. "Agreed, but can we walk and talk? There's quite a bit to tell, and perhaps..."   He offers a smile, an idea forming in his mind. "...perhaps our route will take us to the Golden Oak district. You never know." The memory of his talk with Prince Rygar hung fresh in his mind, and Peri's kind gesture of her Druidcraft drew his eyes to hers once more.  "Peri, I'm sorry. I got caught up in the moment, and I know that this tree means a lot to you." The sorcerer began to walk away from the entrance to the keep, talking all the while. "The prince told me that he had  seen a Party Tree before, Peri. A Party Tree on a very specific island. You spoke to our captain about Trebaz Sinara, did you not?" His eyes turned back to Peri, turning over the leaf in his hand. "The Golden Oak isn't one of them, but he traveled there, love. He said that one was there, a true Party Tree."
Location: The palace of Regalport Date/Time: midday, second day in Regalport Who: Peri, Cicero "There was ?" Peri reached up to grab Cicero's hand, and swung it between them as she thought. " Were there people in the island, then? It's being used for parties that makes a fine tree a Party Tree, you know. But he went there for sure? That's so interesting! Will we be able to go sometime, do you think? Does it really have treasures - - aside from a tree grand enough to be a party tree, of course ." She stopped talking then as their steps drew them within view of the district. "Oh, now those are trees ," she said in satisfaction, and squeezed Bluebird's hand tighter.

Not able to get the events of Tantamor, he decides to get stronger. As he grips his spear tightly with one hand he heads towards the Sword District. As he goes through the streets making his way towards the Fighters' Guild. As he spots the sign he heads through the door and to the main desk showing his identity as part of the Fighters' Guild, "Hello, I am looking in training in the use of a spear. Is there anyone here who can help me improve?"

Location:  Sword District Regalport Date/Time: Early morning of the third day in Regalport Who: Khord, Arilla, and Ax Behind the counter is a bulky looking human with long brown hair and green eyes. He looks to the newcomer, then to his emblem and nods his head and gestures for Khord to follow him. He leads Khord to a large room with training dummies, bow and arrow targets and exercise equipment. The man heads over to a slender looking half elf, getting her attention and pointing in Khord's direction. The bulky man then heads out of the room, not saying a word as the half elf heads over to Khord. "Sorry about Ax, man of few words as you can probably tell. You come here for training? From that thing on your back I can imagine you like to use longer ranged melee weapons. Lucky for you you've found Arilla Zelviel, the best spearsmen in all of Regalport" She says with a confident grin. "Well come on, we should get started while there is still sun out, I'll assess your capabilities today and see what exactly I have to work with. Once I see your potential then we can get to work on your spear training. It's going to take some time but I think with the right amount of mentoring you can have some promise, kid. Just remember to do what I say, never give any less than 100% while training and always pay your dues to Ax on your way out, or else there is going to be trouble" She says with a smile, seemingly hoping she can have a chance to teach some discipline and respect to a rookie. She points over to a training dummy and says "Well go ahead and show me what you got, I wanna see how you approach and deal with an enemy." With that she will wait patiently to see what this new comer has to offer.

Location: Sword District Regalport Date/Time: Early morning of the third day in Regalport Who: Khord, Arilla, and Ax Khord bows his head to Ax as he leaves and then does so as well to Arilla. "No worries, I don't mind quiet people. So what type of spear do you prefer as you can tell I am accustomed to the heavier ones" He smiles a little at Arilla, asking a question as he heads over to the dummy and begins to slowly move his spear hitting the dummy several times. He begins by focusing on precision and then starts to slowly speed up into what almost seems like a dance. He continues to hit the dummy in oblique and awkward to defend points and avoid imaginary blows that almost hit to close to home, bringing up the shaft of his spear to block any he couldn't naturally avoid and keep his balance. Whenever possible he uses his jump magic to attack from areas most spears could never hit. As his sweating grows and he begins panting more and more he begins to use more complicated maneuvers until he reaches about the time of a normal morning session and then begins to slow back down and finally comes to a halt. Still Keeping all of his armor on even though his body is visibly heaving with his panting breath. catching his breath, Khord looks at Arilla and says. "So how was it? It is rough I know and there is still much work to be done and effort to be put it in, but that is why I am here to improve my spear arts." (Attack Roll: 16)
Location: Sword District Regalport Date/Time: Early morning of the third day in Regalport Who: Khord, Arilla, and Ax Arilla watches Khord intently, checking his footwork, the points he attacked, the force behind each strike. Once Khord finishes the half elf circles him, looking him up and down, looking at how he carries himself after battling. "You seem to be pretty strong, pretty obvious by the weapon you wield, but you don't particularly have the finesse in order to properly use it." She goes to the wall and grabs a pike off a weapons rack and heads over to the dummy. "You try aiming for vulnerable spots in your enemies but you aren't hitting there precisely, a little bit of patience goes a long way to hit the right point." She says as she nimbly shoves the pike into the area of the dummy where it's heart would be. "Not only that but the more fluid you are with your motions the more force you can put behind them, making a precise attack a deal massive damage to the opponents body." She spins the pike around and plants it in the ground next to her. "Your jumping attack is good but you'll need to learn how to not over exert yourself while you fight, don't want to get winded while facing an overpowering enemy."  She'll pick up the pike and head over to the rack to put it back as she says "And as to your question I use a normal spear as my main weapon, it allows me to learn other heavier or lighter weapons of the like and it is the favored weapon of guards so they come to me for training." She'll come back over to Khord, pulling her spear from her back and handing it to Khord. "We'll start your training now, but you'll be using this. Trust me though, if you learn how to properly use this, you'll be able to kill anyone with that." Gesturing to Khord's weapon.
Location: Sword District Regalport Date/Time: Early morning of the third day in Regalport Who: Khord, Arilla Khord grabs the spear from Arilla and backs up a few feet,. Swinging the spear a few times to get used to it, he mutters quietly to himself as he frowns a little, "So my precision is still off when will I get used to this broken body..." After a bit of acclimating himself to the spear he was handed he looks up at Arilla. "Well then where should we start?"
Location: Tik Tik say its small green man tent village. Date/Time: Dark time... hunt time. Who: Tik Tik, DD and the house people Tik Tik wandered around the camp site looking for anything edible dragging behind his great sword I don't like how it cuts.... it not bloody need sharper bits. he takes his axe and begins cutting nicks into the blade so it looks more serrated, good this cut better through the tent people. He wanders over to a tent and peeks inside chittering happily miss tents... reminds of home. He slowly begins taking pins out of the ground in order to pack the tent up. The tent slowly falls with him inside remember to take tents down without tik-tik inside, it makes it small when tik-tik still inside. After struggling for several minutes Tik-Tik eventually packs the tent up. immediately realizing that he forgot his backpack at the wood house in the big stone building farm. do i leave here... or... walk.. how will carry DD.. Tik-Tik slowly sits down deep in thought and cuts a section out of the tent and ties a a sling. There can carry DD now, and still have- wait... tent torn.. DD will fix or the tiny female DD will fix... birthname Peri? those fleshlings have odd names... hard to say in chirpings...  (rolled a 5 for check to speak) "P-P-P-P" Tik tik frustratingly bundles the torn tent as he attempts to speak. Will get DD to teach again maybe the fancy word speak will be easier. Tik-Tik stops and crouches and starts building up dals to spread on his broken chitin, as he absentmindedly attempts to write in the dirt the names of the party. "DD, MISS PERIIII, CORND, COOKMAN" He happily chitters with his work and looks around expectantly to see if anyone admired his fine writing, which is startlingly VERY practiced.
Location: Orc Camp Date/Time: Close to Midnight Who: Donny, and Tik-Tik Donny was following Mrs. Perri, after the 'discussion' that had just occurred; he was about to speak up but then he saw Tik-Tik have a tent fall on him. Donny gave a slight chuckled and began to walk to the tall insectoid, however as Donny watched he saw that Tik-Tik might actually have it under control. That was until Tik-Tik ripped the tent in order to build a satchel out of it, Donny decided that Tik-Tik probably did need some help. "Can I give ya a hand friend!" Donny announced as he walked over, Tik-Tik seemingly standing over something. As Donny approached he saw names written in the dirt, DD, MISS PERIIII, CORND, COOKMAN. Donny chuckled at the letters, and looked at the giant insectoid. "Did you make this Tik-Tik, it'sa mighty fine piece of work there. Nice to see you making progress..." As Donny picked up another stick and began to write TIK-TIK into the dirt next to the others name. "You know you did mighty fine work out there, you were a big help. I think you'd be a great asset to our team. So I'ma try and cool off Miss Perri. I think you and your friend will be great for Bermuda Hex." Towards the end of Donny talking, he began to take the stick and began to draw a circle over all the names. Grouping them together, and then under the circle he wrote the word TEAM . If Tik-Tik had nothing to say, Donny would run to catch up to Perri.
Location: Orc Camp Date/Time: Close to Midnight Who: Donny, and Tik-Tik From the couched down position Tik-Tik turned and stared confused at the cookman need hand? they only have two... how can give me a hand when they only have two. Tik-Tik cocked his head to the side in a confused gesture as he momentarily was lost in thought. Snapping back to the squishy in front of him Tik-Tik nervously pawed at the satchel in his hands as he pointed towards DD then to the satchel, then rocked all four of his arms back and fourth to imitate rocking a baby, all of this being done in complete silence. Tik-Tik chittered excitedly as cookman began to write in the dirt, he dropped down to a crouch again and continued the name to write TIK-TIK CHA RAK THRACK. Or at least the closest common equivalent to his full thri-kreen name. Now say name! Even DD can't say full name! he swayed side to side as he crouched in barely held in excitement. He wrote in the dirt under what cookman wrote FAMILY and once again began chittering. He stood to his full height and took a step towards cookman letting his antennae wander about cookman's face. Will protect cookman, he feed Tik-Tik. even if it yukky fluid filth.  He pointed to himself "Tik-TIK" pointed towards cookman and waited in anticipation. Cookman is name, can't wait to see cookman expession.

Location: Orc Camp Date/Time: Close to Midnight Who: Donny, Tik-Tik, and hopefully Perri Donny looked pleasantly surprised when Tik-Tik wrote family underneath the group. He was happily surprised seeing that Tik-Tik enjoyed the group. So happy in fact he began calling for Mrs. Perri, "Miss Perri, could you come here for one second."  As Donny  finishes hollering he observed the dirt, it appeared Tik-Tik had added to his name. Then pointed to himself simply saying "Tik-Tik"  Donny looked confused, but then slowly began to put the pieces together. "Is that your name?." Tik tik then poked Donny, almost signaling him to do speak it. That's at least what Donny thought.  So he would give it a shot  "TIK TIK CHA RAK THRACK." (Don't know if it's necessary but 17 CHA check to speak his name.)  Donny shot a nervous smile, clearly enjoying bonding, but unsure if he was insulting TIK TIK or not. "Did I do it right?"  Donny scratching his head nervously.
Location: Orc Camp Date/Time: Close to Midnight Who: Donny, Tik-Tik, and hopefully Perri Tik Tik shuddered slightly and began nervously rubbing his claws together chittering uncontrollably as he knelt and preemptively started drawing a square in the dirt around him. They won't come in square because square is my land not their land, that's their rule. he glanced around to make sure small non leafy DD wasn't coming before addressing Cookman.  this one is simple.. Tik-Tik shook his head as he twiddled his claws together shifting uneasily how explain this to it. As Cookman butchered his name Tik-Tik's primary arms fell limp to his side with those jaws and tongues they still can't.. he leaned down and scratched in the dirt NO. he pointed to himself again and spoke his name "Tik-Tik Cha Rak Thrack" followed by a nod as if to say "you got this?" then poked cookman in the chest and cocked his head to the side quizzically. A thought jumped into his head, This one can read! he knelt down and wrote in the dirt COOKMAN. NAME? COOKMAN COOK MEET.   As Cookman began scratching his head Tik-Tik subconsciously reached out as if to pluck something from his head No fleshlings don't groom... remember the rules... so many rules, he dropped his hand and stooped to his normal hunched posture to be at cookman's level.
Location: Orc Camp Date/Time: Close to Midnight Who: Donny, Tik-Tik, and Peri  Peri closed her eyes and took a careful, deep breath as Scooter hollered her name, then dragged herself to her feet and made her way to the collapsed orc tent. Scooter and the bug guy were crouched together in the dirt, Tik-Tik surrounded by a box scratched into the dirt. " Unless he's trying to run somewhere I don't know why he needs a naughty box right now, guys?" There were common words scratched out as well and she squinted, tilting her head.

Location: Orc Camp Date/Time: Close to Midnight Who: Donny, Tik-Tik, and Peri As Peri approached Donny saw the large isectoid become nervous, and began drawing a box. Donny tried to comfort Tik Tik "Don't worry Tik Tik she's not here to yell at you, I just wanted to show her what an amazing job you did writing and what you wrote." Donny attempted to pat the Tik Tik's shoulders trying to comfort him, while dong so he turned to look and talk to Peri. "No no he ain't runnin, he's just a bit nervous cause...well I think you spook him a bit ma'am." Donny giving an awkward laugh, hoping not to offend Peri again. "Anyway, I just wanted to show you what he wrote." Using the stick Donny pointed to the group of names, and underlined the word FAMILY which Tik Tik had wrote himself. While she read Donny spoke, "I know my opinion is about as wanted as a fox in a chicken coop, but I think firing these guys may not be in our best interest. This big guy put down most of the enemy, and was able to take a lot of there hits. N while Dee Dee didn't do much in the fight, he was able to sneak into this base and give us the enemy info. I don't know, I think we should see what they got." Donny speaking nervously, trying to not get in trouble with Peri again. After speaking Donny looked to Tik Tik, and began writing in the dirt. Donny pointed to his own chest and began to try to tell him his name. "My name is Donny.... Da...On...Knee."
Location: Orc Camp Date/Time: Close to Midnight Who: Donny, Tik-Tik, and Peri Tik Tik shook his head in acknowledgement as the fleshlings talked, taking a moment to excitedly dust away the square bad square, tricky magics. For good measure Tik Tik also stepped onto the tent in order to be off the dirt, as he clasped his claws together looking around Rules remember the rules what do what do what do what do. Tik Tik swiveled to listen in on the fleshlings not really knowing the importance of what he wrote, they need protection.. i can protect just like i used to! Tik Tik began chittering excitedly "When i was back home i used to protect our village from the dangers of the desert and they let me wander sometimes to keep notes on the neighboring pointy eared ones! It was lots of fun having a job to do! Although i was always in trouble because my curiosity usually meant i was pulled away from my job, but but but I was good! i made sure the village was safe and we had food and water! i found lots of water holes and kept them hidden from any travelers.. sneaky travelers but you guys are good travelers" -Tik Tik froze... realizing that they had no idea what he was saying and just nodded along with the cookman. He scratched in the dirt DD FIRST FAMILY, YOU SECOND? Tik Tik noticed Cookman writing and stopped and waited. His name not cookman? Cookman Donny!    Tik Tik gibbered something and wrote above Donny COOKMAN with an equals sign in order to say they're the same person, he noticed the change in tone when talking to missus P and wrote in smaller lettering Does MISSUS P SCARE YOU TOO?
Location: Orc Camp Date/Time: Close to Midnight Who: Donny, Tik-Tik, and Peri Peri found herself squinting at the boy suspiciously. He seemed like a nice enough kid, which given how terrible he'd been when they first met made her feel uneasy as much as anything. She read the word he underlined and made a noise in her throa t; "Hnnn. Kind of sweet, I guess. Super inaccurate but, you know. Sweet." Both boys looked at her, bug and human, and she squeezed her locket between her thumbs as she tried not to frown.  "Here's the thing, buddies. The terrible twosome were useful, don't get me wrong. But that becomes useless real quick if they're not able to work with me and Khord. Tik Tik here listens, as best he can, I reckon, but I don't trust DiDi as far as I can throw him."
Location: Orc Camp Date/Time: Close to Midnight Who: Donny, Tik-Tik, and Peri Donny wrote next to Tik Tim's question, CAREFUL NOT SCARED. "I think you're counting eggs before they hatch ma'am. Y'all had one tussle I don't think that mean he untrustworthy, I think more evaluating are in order. Don't get me wrong he's definitely a stubborn mule, but I don't think he was the only mule kicking." Donny speaking in a more firm tone, hoping to try and reconcile the two factions before it blew up.
Location: Orc Camp Date/Time: Close to Midnight Who: Donny, Tik-Tik, Peri and hopefully DD Tik-Tik stood awkwardly between Missus and Cookman wondering why they were talking about himself and DD. DD is friend why do they talk mean words about DD, he's just lonely. Tik Tik suddenly pointed his one hooked claw upwards in a eureka moment, hastily rummaged through the tent folds to find the sling he had made for DD and held it forward to Missus and Cookman as if to say "This will fix everything". he chittered for a moment excitedly and took a step towards Missus before stopping and looking down at the dirt, slowly retracting his step all the while keeping an apprehensive stance towards Missus. He held his claw up as if to say "one moment" and proceeds to make a high pitch whining noise akin to a cicada screech. DD will come, DD will understand.
Location: Orc Camp Date/Time: Close to Midnight Who: Donny, Tik-Tik, Peri  "Don't mean he's trustworthy , either, Scooter. And he only has to be a little bit unreliable to get us killed, you know." She bent over slightly and read their conversation in the dirt. " Hmm ." She straightened back up and looked back at them with her arms folded over her chest, feeling the redoubled weariness of somehow ending up in charge of this death-circus. " Welp ." Tik-Tik started forward then stopped, chittering as he looked at his weird chitinous feet where they rested on the dirt, and Peri felt a little ping of remorse. The poor guy couldn't help that he was simple, and while he needed to behave she didn't like confusing or upsetting him. It was probably hopeless, but she tried speaking to his mind again: You can step on this dirt, buddy. The dirt around our house, that I grow plants in, is special and you have to be SUPER careful, but this dirt is just dirt and you can step in it all you want. He just looked at her, his buggy head cocked, and she gave him an awkward thumbs-up, wishing more than ever that Cicero was here--he was so much better at talking to people than her!
