The Red Hand Club is a gaming group, but more than that we're a collection of friends. We have similar interests, including RPGs, video games, anime, movies, sci-fi, comic books, etc., and we enjoy sharing those with our friends in the group! Myself and 5 other players, all of whom have been long-time members of the Red Hand Club and play well together, are seeking a GM for the Dragon Age Tabletop RPG to be played weekly on Mondays, at 6:30 PM CST. This is a franchise we love and about which we are incredibly passionate. Unfortunately, as things stand, no one is able to take up the reins and run a long-term game, so we've decided to seek outside help. As gamers, we have some requirements. Firstly, we're all heavy roleplayers. Combat and exploration are important to us, but we get the most out of the game when our characters are motivated and have a personal investment in the adventure. Second, we want you to be active in the RHC with us. We definitely don't expect you to devote your life to us, but if you only ever pop in Discord on game night, play the game, and then immediately leave, then I doubt we're gonna get along. Finally, we prefer to do most of our roleplaying in text. Mechanical questions and general shit-shooting are still done in voice, but text RP affords us the ability to focus, think, and consider our characters' responses without the pressure to quickly respond that comes with a voice environment. If you're not able to GM a slower game that plays mainly via text, then we're probably not going to get along. As friends, we strive to be as inclusive as possible. We value openness and honesty, so don't be afraid to be yourself and let your true colors shine! However, if your true colors are those of an asshole, then that's probably not a person we would want to game or be friends with. Our general rule of thumb; be respectful, be friendly, and don't be a dick. We've had some bad experiences with players, and one really bad experience with a GM, so in order to save everyone time and frustration, I'd like to set up a time for myself and any potential GM to chat, answer a few questions, and generally get to know one another to see if you'd be a good fit for the group. I know it sounds like a job interview, but please understand that we wouldn't do this if we didn't feel it was necessary to avoid getting burned again. Thanks for taking the time to read, and I look forward to meeting our new GM!
