Zoom still needs improvement

The only savior I have found against the awkward zoom tool (which always drags my view back down to the bottom left corner of the map- very irritating) is by clicking the mouse wheel in and it gives me a kind of pan (still not the best). I think either a very small mini-map or a zoom-box using the Alt key for zoom out. Any thoughts? The main reason this is a problem for me is on larger dungeons with lots of doors, when the party opens a door it is incredibly hard to select and delete the small light-blocking lines I have placed in for the purposes of dynamic lighting. The only way I have been able to select it is by zooming in and removing it, but when it resets my view on a large dungeon from the place I am already looking at, I find the party is waiting doing not alot while I'm simply trying to open a door.

Stereonipple , you should be able to select your small light-blocking lines without changing the zoom level. If you send me a join link I can come look at your setup and advise you.
If zooming in and out maintained what your camera/viewport was centered on, zoom would be significantly better. A minimap with a draggable box that represented your viewport would also be a way to improve the navigation of the map page you're on.
Somewhat related. The numbers on the "ruler" tool should not scale down as you zoom out. If you are zoomed out really far they become too small too read.
Here's an API script that you can use as a Range Finder until the ruler is improved at different zoom levels. Though it only works if you have tokens you can target. <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/537763/script-range-finder#post-537905" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/537763/script-range-finder#post-537905</a>
Sorry it took me so long to respond, @Gauss thank you I will send you that link if you are still willing to help. I am in way over my head as a GM just trying to bullshit the rules of Pathfinder as well as make sure everything is easy and accessible for players. @ HoneyBadger thanks that is a great thing to have.

Stereonipple , go ahead and send me a join link.
I will as soon as I have the time to do anything, we are moving this week and we need to set up the wifi and all, thanks in advance!
+1 zoom needs to stay pointer focused.
Yes, please modify the zoom tool to retain the same map centering (usually on a specific PC token) !!! This was really a pain yesterday. My adventure takes place on a cruise ship, where I imported one huge map of multiple decks of the ship, with a 100 X 80 hex (3 ft GURPS hex) configuration, and it was really a pain when players had to hunt around for their token when zooming out to find their token, then back in for tactical display in a smaller space. Please fix this!!!
Yes, this continues to be a headache for me (GM) and my group. If it could be pointer focused, that would make map navigation so much easier. If that is somehow impossible, I would also be fine with staying camera focused, so it just zoomed to the center of your screen instead of where the mouse cursor was. Right now I think it is about as random as the dice rolls.
+1 The focus should imo be either the (mouse) pointer or the centre of the screen.

+1 It makes it impossible to do large maps because zooming in and out even a little bit screws up your position on it.
+1 Please fix this soon!!! PLEASE! We always use very large maps in our campaign and I already formed the habit of avoiding the zoom function at any time.
+1 Same problem in my group. Would be quite nice if the zooming problem could be fixed!
I was looking through the forums and may have missed it. Have any devs commented on this or at least acknowledged it? I'm curious to know if it is on their radar.
+1 This is incredibly annoying and a real problem for me and my players!
For whatever it's worth, I'm probably going to have to leave Roll20 or risk a revolt from my players. There are several problems, but this is one of the worst.
Doug said: I was looking through the forums and may have missed it. Have any devs commented on this or at least acknowledged it? I'm curious to know if it is on their radar. To my knowledge there has not been a dev response. But I think it has been said that all suggestions are read and considering this has been here for montsh (and there has been several similar suggestions) and it keeps poppong up to the forums start page semiregularly I'm fairly certain the devs know about it.
