The party talked with Salgerra’s family, specifically Garffon Lighthown (Count) and Firdulin Lighthorn (Countess) about whether to help with the deep roads, help quell the mercenary unrest in Rhohgnah, go fight on the front lines or help with the fire giant problem. The party decided to help clear the under roads and Thokoli (Salgerra’s brother) took them to go meet Captain Ergath Werjynd (ver-jind) who controlls Rhohgnah forces underneath the city. She told them about an ice giant, some goblins, and a white dragon who were causing troubles for the Keepers as well as some ancient dungeon that was recently opened and was causing those who investigate it to disappear. Alaise asked for a 1000 gold advance for eliminating the white dragon, etc, and Thokoli appointed him official guide for the party. After buying some potions and Alaise getting an upgrade to platemail, they party headed back down the underground bridge. They started to make their way towards the southwest chamber, but were turned around by a trap causing the ceiling to cave in, as well as a pit trap. They made their way around/through the pit trap to engage some goblin archers on one of the bridges. Helios was flying over the ravine when he was attacked by archers, fortunately he made his concentration check to keep himself from falling. Bardman used a bead of force, killing three and trapping one in a sphere of force. The other archer ran away. Helios interrogated the archer before pushing his sphere of force off the platform into the magma river a thousand feet below. The party then engaged goblins in the side tunnel to the east, with Helios flying around to the west side and engaging a goblin gladiator and two goblin archers off to the south (one was the one who had fled earlier). The 3 goblins took him down where he exploded in a fiery ball and came back at one hit point. As Alaise, Bardman, and Ughragog made it into the dungeon, Nikon took the opportunity to lightning bolt two different groups of goblins, one lined up on a bridge and the other in a corridor. Inside the dungeon campsite, Alaise, Ughragog, Helios, and Bardman are currently facing off with a Gladiator and a couple of archers. There is also a goblin wizard of some kind who was invisible and then hit the party with a cone of cold for 33 damage (Nikon was hiding in the hallway and didn’t get hit). Fortunately, the party all made their saves and all the goblins in the effect of the spell lost theirs. The hit would have downed Helios anyways but Ughragog used his ability where he can, as a reaction, give a party member within 30 feet resistance to his damage type of choice. There are 4 veteran goblin archers running around, as well as an almost dead goblin gladiator, a cowering goblin boss, and a goblin mage/wizard of some kind who yelled “SURRENDER” before running away.
If we're still doing inspiration nominations, I'd go for Helios and Bardman.  Helios saved Alaise by flying out and risking his neck and I feel like he wrecked the goblin plans by flanking around behind, even if he did go down.   Bardman had some really timely cutting words, as well as the bead of force trick so hard for me to pick one really!
Yeah Helios did go out to cover Alaise and was concerned about flanking. Left him get too open though...or didn't do enough...my head was distracted that night. Will have to come up with a plan!
Thanks for taking over the last off-game for me Attila and it seems if he didn't get hit then you played him perfectly :).  Major credit where it's due. I really thought I'd been able to stick out the entire game, but that hurricane started to move quick all of the sudden.
Haha no worries! He was just bringing up the rear and hesitating but had 2 great opportunities to use Lightning Bolt.  If anything I think was playing Helios conservatively spells wise - should have just unloaded on the hardass warrior dude and mage and tried to take them down rather than retreat. That was when they unloaded on him and took him down.
