Star Wars has always reminded me of the Godfather quote, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in again." I used to feel as a casual fan of Star Wars I was a little on the fringe. I never really could keep up with all the EU 'lore,' with 40 years of contradictory novels, comic books, video games and whatnot. You'd meet up with fans and they'd discuss things I really had no idea about. I read some novels, I watched all the films and I played one of the video games so I really felt I couldn't connect with the larger fanbase. Now with the canon better defined, I feel I can at last be on the same footing as other people when it comes to the "official lore". It started with The Clone Wars, then it moved on to Rebels. After that I was watching Rogue One and The Force Awakenes. Now I am looking for a weekly fix of Star Wars gaming! I'm looking for a game that tends to be more mature and serious. Something more Rogue One and The Force Awakens as opposed to The Holiday Special or Robot Chicken. What I mean by this is often times I feel as a GM and as a Player is a GM works to set a mood for a game then you get " that guy " that just has to crack jokes all the time. It sort of ruins the immersion for me and makes it hard to enjoy the dramatic tension of scenes. I'd prefer the time period between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. I feel it allows a lot of potential for stories as the Empire is expanding its grip and leaves a lot of room for the PCs to operate in the shadow of the empire.
