Only check for critical success/failure on first roll

I'm building a custom character sheet for High Adventure Role Playing (HARP) -- similar to and different from Rolemaster -- and for attacks I only want the dice rolling code to check for critical success on the first roll, and regardless of the type of skill roll to only check for fumbles on the first roll. My code on a basic attack button I made just to test it out is "/roll 1d100!>96cs>99cf<5 + (@{StTot} + {AgTot})". The reason I want to see what the dice rolled actually are is because I will sometimes need to use Martial Law's criticals by location. What confused me was a roll of 3 after exploding that came up in red instead of black. I only need to check for critical cap breaking or fumbles once. Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, I don't think this is possible (short of writing an API Script to handle rolling). As you've experienced, roll modifiers apply to all dice, including exploding dice. Using Compounding Dice would not work, either, because they would falsely indicate a critical success if the compounded total reaches the critical success threshold. I'm no expert in Roll Template logic , but I would hazard a guess that you still should be able to build a Roll Template that would provide you with more-desirable functionality/output (and/or stylized roll highlighting). (You'll have to consult one of the Sheet Authors on this matter, however!)
I think I'll just remove the cs and cf bits, after all using only one exclamation point means I see what each die roll was.
1d100!>96cs0cf0 is one way to ensure no roll highlighting.
I just took them both out. As I have the character sheets showing me the individual rolls it will be easy to figure out if a Critical Cap Break happens.
