Pre-built Macros on purchased Add-ons

I recently purchased an adventure from Tales of the Yawning Portal. (White Plume Mountain) I have noticed that none of the monsters included in the add-on have macros built for them. I therefore have to go in and program those myself for every monster in the adventure. Which is a ton of work. Am I missing something? I suppose I cannot complain for the cost of the add-on, but in the future I plan on buying something bigger such as Tomb of Annihilation. Is this the case for all the module add-ons? If I buy Tomb of Annihilation, am I going to have to program the macros for EVERY monster in the ENTIRE campaign? What about the Monster Manuel Add-on? Does that come with pre-built macros for all the monsters and their attacks?
Macros are very user specific. Some people like roll templates, others are fine with using /em commands. Also macros that use roll templates are specific to the character sheet. So if you are using another sheet, such as the Shaped Sheet, any pre-built macros that use roll templates would not work anyway. As such, everything is built onto the character sheet with no macros. If you are wanting a quick way to create macros for npcs, I would highly recommend the PRO subscription for access to the API, which could easily create macros in mass. That's what I do at least.

Also of note: The official DnD 5e addons and modules have character (monster/npc/player) objects configured for the 5e OGL character sheet.  If you're not using that character sheet in your Game, you'll not get as much benefit of preconfigured monsters from modules and addons (or the Monster Manual or the Zolo's Guide to Monsters expansion to the Compendium). However, if you enable the 5e OGL character sheet in your game, you'll have all of those character (monster/npc/player) objects fully spec'ed with clickable actions and such.
Dan, I feel the same way as you. We are paying a premium price and should get a no prep needed product. Please add a vote to my suggestion Token Actions for Monster Manual and paid content Even with the API it's still a bunch of work to add token actions to all the creatures in a mod.

That would require everyone to be locked into one sheet and one style of play. That would generate complaints from folks who want their tokens configured differently, or not configured at all. For instance, I use the Shaped Sheet. All of the macros would be so much screen noise for me, and I would have to spend all my time deleting them. It's a no-win scenario.

For pro users who use the OGL sheet, there is a great API script that handily adds macros to tokens.&nbsp; <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/5608775/script-u" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/5608775/script-u</a>... I have the script assigned as a token action, so it is very easy to generate macros quickly and on the fly for any token on my table. Right now I am using a forked version of the script from this message in the thread to add more functionality.&nbsp; <a href="https://app.roll20.net/forum/permalink/5974193/" rel="nofollow">https://app.roll20.net/forum/permalink/5974193/</a>
