The party went to Brother Althalos’ home, a boat floating off a city dock. A two story boat with an open central area and a loft for a second story, the boat served as a place for the homeless to live. Adorned with symbols of the elemental gods and Silvanus, this was where Brother Althalos and the 4 acolytes called home. Bardman spoke with a rat about the disease, seeming to not know a whole hell of a lot, but it took Bardman’s food and some of its rat buddies got some food as well. Alaise scryed on the kidnappers from Corrive, specifically the one who changed shape (the druid). Vallah and Hithdra (the elf archer) were on the deck of a Corrive ship, in the Jagpod sea where the waters had been iced over and 20+ ships were stuck. Only a single ship off in the distance seemed to be avoiding the ice. Off to the south, Alaise could see a local village with docks had been destroyed. The party stayed the night, fighting off a brief bullywug incursion of 3-4 bullywugs that they easily dispatched. The next day, they went with Brother Althalos to the ziggurat where he was going to inquire about the Order of the Phoenix. Gillia and Thokoli went off to tour the city and look around. Bardman visited the Temple of Humility where he inquired about a place he could heal the sick. The monk there informed him of a local sanitarium where he could go heal the most heavily afflicted. Brother Althalos came back an hour later followed by four individuals in leather armor. At the front was an exceptionally beautiful human with brown hair, amber eyes, studded leather, a rapier and a dagger named Marr. Behind her was a shorter man named Gery with messy black hair, large brown eyes, leather armor, a short sword, a bottle of booze and a shot glass. They introduced themselves as the Order of the Phoenix. The party went with them to a small 1 and ½ story wood building at the southern base of the ziggurat. Cuch went inside to the small tavern. At the bar was a tall woman elf named Arwerdas with gray hair, gray eyes, and numerous magical tattoos. Bardman identified her to be 400+ years old. The other two, Edmund and Waerbur watched the door then came inside. Arwerdas explained that Kaleth had been founded by a master thief named Phoenix, a half orc who used his fortune to start a refuge for the unfortunate. Their order was named after him and was different from the monk order the party was looking for. However, they would be willing to contact the monk order once the party proved themselves trustworthy allies. Possible things the party could do included: Find a cure for the swamp boils. Discover who or what is attacking their lizardfolk allies to the east. There’s a bounty for Yuanti-fangs. The larger the fang, the bigger the reward. People in town have been trading with Filthy Bonnie Gristlescratcher, she is selling them something that, when consumed over a few weeks time prevents/treats the swamp boils. (she’s selling them the mineral that is no longer in their food). For pets she has a hydra that protects her lair. For payment, the villagers are taking her their weak, wounded, and elderly. There are some Bullywug slaving ships around, who have been patrolling the waters. Find the people who have been recruiting for a new cult and bring them in for questioning. The ideas were put forth by the various rogues in the room. Bardman asked questions to Gery. They seemed to know that the people who ate the freshwater swamp fish got sick but the fish wasn’t poisoned or diseased. They talked to Lyklor, a dart-throwing male elf with silver hair, and green eyes. Near him was a elf with braided copper hair, hazel, eyes, and a thin nose named Cori who was studying various maps of the nearby area. The party went with Lyklor to round up those who had been recruiting for the Yuan-Ti cult, stopping 4 different recruiters and dealing with them in different ways. Helios used fire, Alaise intimidated/murdered some people, Asher cut a cultist in half. By the end of the day, Lyklor had a chain gang of cult recruiters and the party stayed in a small house near the Order of the Phoenix’s tavern. The party’s next plan was to visit Filthy Bonnie Thistlescratcher to find out more about her “cure”.
