In the hallways of the ancient lair, the party began moving south with Urd taking lead and Ron searching for hidden doors and passageways. Ron found one, with the party going down a side passage instead of going into the main doors. After avoiding a trap, Urd and Rurrick entered the southernmost entrance, walking into Schachik-Guarg’s bedroom filled with tables of arcane objects, piles of bones, and a bed. Above the entrance to the passageway was a mirror. Rurrick told Urd to take it and turn it around. Urd turned around, saw his reflection in the mirror and vanished. Rurrick ran underneath the mirror, closing his eyes and spitting on it trying to marr the surface. Rurrick and Ailekk explained what happened and Ron recalled information about a Mirror of Life Trapping, a magical mirror with 12 extradimensional cages that could be broken easily, unless the party wanted to take the time (a short rest) to study the object and figure out the command word. The party entered the bedroom, with Cassius covering his eyes and smashing the mirror in one hit. The room was filled with an orc, half orcs (2), halflings (2), dwarves (2), a human, and a tiefling. They talked to the NPCs, some of whom seemed to have been trapped in the mirror for some time. The two half orcs started arguing with each other. Urd offered any of them to leave, some did. Then the party was attacked by a ghoul, wights, and a Tanurakk, with Schachick using circle of dead then fleeing. The death magic killed several of the NPCs, with the party following after Schachick. Making it into the main chamber, they came to a chamber with chains hanging from the ceiling. Advancing into the chamber, the floor dropped out of most of the area, with Schachik using magic to attack the party and lair actions dropping life-stealing cages on party members. Fortunately, Ron used his chime of opening to help them escape the cages. The party were briefly feared, but Urd and Ailekk managed to do quite a bit of damage to Schachik. Urd, Rurrick, Cassius, and Ron were all brought pretty low with Rurrick being dropped once. In the end, Ailekk killed the prince and the party began mopping up with Bone Devil and the wights. Note: The human tribal berserker is currently trapped underneath the floor in the spikes.
