[LFP] [Fate-Core] [LGBT+ Friendly] [Heavy Roleplay] Totally Normal High School Campaign

Hello everyone! I'm Josie and I'm going to be running slightly modified game of Fate Core! I've been playing roleplaying games for about half of my life (over 15 years) And I've been GMing off and on for about half of that. So I've got quite a bit of experience under my belt when it comes to running games and the like. As I stated I'm looking to run a game of Fate Core, don't worry if you've never played it before it's actually SUPER easy to get into, character creation is a lot more streamlined than any other game. Rather than epic fantasies or star spanning sci-fi I'm looking to run a game in a much more contemporary setting, specifically you'll be taking on the role of a group of normal high-schoolers, attending a private academy in Simi Valley California. The setting does take place in the far flung future of 2042. (Okay maybe not that far flung.) Only so I don't have to entirely rely on complete accuracy in using Simi Valley and Southern California as a backdrop. It's a quiet little city off the outskirts of Ventura and mainly used to commute to Los Angeles, there's usually not a lot going on but there have been a lot of rumors lately. There's been a surge of wild animals that have started to become more bold in approaching the city limits, there was an off season wild fire that struck the old decommissioned Energy Engineering center, and weirdest of all was the night that a piece of space debris struck somewhere in the Santa Monica mountains, bringing with it a bunch of strange government types to your town. But that's all background stuff, it's probably not going to interfere with your already hectic school life is it? Since I live in California myself I'm going to be using the PST standard for all my timing, I ask that you adjust on your own accordingly. If you have a hard time with that then there's some awesome sites to help like this one. I'm looking to make this into a long running campaign, it will eventually have a tail end but I imagine that it'll probably run about a year or so at the least. That said I'm looking to play on Every Week on Wednesday Afternoons, running from about 3:00PM to 7:00PM PST. Meaning the game will run on average about 4 hours, of course since I like punctuality I'm going to start setting up for the game at about 2:30 PM every day, and those that come in ready to play from then to the actual game time will get a fresh and shiny fate point to use during the day! :3 I'm going to be running the game here on Roll20 of course, there won't be much in the way of battle maps or or anything like that, I prefer to use theater of the mind in my games. (Which also means less work for me in supplying maps.) However there will be rolling and compelling of fate points and all sorts of other game mechanics that will cross the table so Roll20 will keep track of all that. As for voice, I'm going to be running a Discord Server that will act as both an OOC hub and an IC hub for the characters. When we're not actually playing on the game we can use the IC parts of the discord to do side stories or flesh out the game and the characters some more. Since we are using voice I would like to take this opportunity to say that this is an LGBT+ friendly game, I myself am a trans female and I don't exactly sound like it but I would like everyone to respect things like pronouns and preferences of all the members of the game. In the end I'm hoping to have fun and make a great atmosphere for a group of players, one that they feel free to play and joke around in. I'm not the most serious person in the world, I like to make jokes and references during my game and I like it when other people insert their own humor into games that I play. After all role playing to me is about creating a story together in order to entertain each other, so that's kind of what I'm looking for in this game. I do want this to be a story that's steeped in a lot of characterization and roleplay, I want there to be a lot going on on the stage as well as in the background. I'm hoping to create a living breathing place where people interact with each other as well as the world very easily. If any of this strikes your fancy take a look at my game page over here and drop me a line to sign up. Of course I am open to questions and I'll be answering them here as well as on the game page so ask away.

Yes, sorry time is bullshit. :3
I'm not available on that day but this game sounds lovely! Difficult to find LGBT+ friendly games sometimes, so I'll let some of my pals know about this. If you ever have any others going, LMK and I'll totally throw my hat into that.
Ah thank you! I'm sorry that you can't play on that day but thank you all the same for throwing it out to your friends and getting the word out there. :3

Hi! Are there still any places? I usually DM but I really want to roleplay and this sounds really fun!
I haven't decided on who I'm going to interview at the moment, but there's still plenty of time to post an application on the landing page.
