Character Draft

Edited 1522942738
I am still fairly new to this system, so advice is welcome. 1st Draft of character: <a href="https://drive.google.com/open?id=17S0r_qqz2B3RMZdjmlaYx2QtVlN4S0tI" rel="nofollow">https://drive.google.com/open?id=17S0r_qqz2B3RMZdjmlaYx2QtVlN4S0tI</a>
OK, a couple of suggestions...DM might have very different opinions than what I am posting... 1. I would suggest trying to bump your recovery up.&nbsp; You have 40 END and have a speed of 5.&nbsp; Your Force Field or Blitz will eat up 10 in a turn and a lot of your attacks chew up a lot of END.&nbsp; See if you can get it to at least 10. 2. You can save a couple of points by dropping DEX from 18 to 17. Your CV stays the same, though your DEX roll drops from 13- to 12-. 3. Both of your Blitz powers are bought as running with a disad of "Only in Contact With a Surface".&nbsp; If you are running, you are in contact with a surface by default.&nbsp; This disad is usually only purchased with the Flight power to simulate running up walls and such but not actually flying. 4. Your Dependent and Hunted are both purchased at 14-....that means both will come up a lot.&nbsp; Like a lot, a lot.&nbsp; Just a warning. 5. As a note, you do not have listed what your social limitation is. 6. I noticed your armor is OIF.&nbsp; You could also put OIF or even OAF on Olihandrew, though that means it can be disarmed, stolen, etc, but it would free up some points. Just some suggestions and such.&nbsp; Take em or leave em :)
I tried to make it realistic with the characteristics.&nbsp; None are superhuman with the exception of his intelligence&nbsp;
Jeremy, great advice. have some questions 1. I'll do that, that's a good point 2. Done 3. Yeah it was flight, but his speed isn't actually running it is more of movement, but only works when his body comes into contact with a solid object. 4. The daughter is a child so that was where I thought she'd need a lot of attention. what would you advise taking in its place? 5. I was thinking that he like, Bruce Wayne, is more concerned with fighting crime than the "normal" world. 6. Olihandrew is a blade that is part of his soul and can be disarmed from him but it will return to him (kinda of Thor's Hammer in most cases) and when not in use resides in his soul. would that work as a OAF?
#4 Was just a warning.&nbsp; At 14- it means those could come up a lot, depends on the GM.&nbsp; Your nemesis appears as an extra to a combat, making it significantly harder.&nbsp; Your daughter gets kidnapped a lot (if you have a public ID), or just happens to be wherever the action is (if you have a secret id) and you have to protect her without giving away your identity. #5 So your Social Lim could be "Secret Identity" #6 Yeah, in that case Focus would not be a disad.

What I was thinking about on the IAF is using Breakability, unbreakable and expendability easy to obtain new focus. What do you think? That actually puts it right in line with your recommendations. I may talk to the GM about a custom disadvantage as the Soul Forge in the stories I have appears to be OP, but actually has insane backlash if over used "before you are ready" type thing.
Talk it over with the GM, but the way you have described it I would skip the Focus disad.
Cool thanks man.

Here is my idea for my character: <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ar7q1qp8h6opmok/AABTzUJ" rel="nofollow">https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ar7q1qp8h6opmok/AABTzUJ</a>...
Lol I can't wait to meet this guy. It'll be fun.
I've updated Aegeta a bit will upload a bit later
I've downloaded the files I could and will check them out as soon as I am able (tomorrow I hope!) Just to let you guys know, my computer, software, and brain are all legacy devices so I can't open all file types. docx being the most frequent format that I have trouble with.
I'll be sure to save them like we did in the stone age, is a stone block! :P
Grrrrr..... In the words one of my players from High School, Arguing (or in this case, making fun of) the Game Master Gets Results.
lol :P
I took a quick look at the Crimson Knight. An INT of 18 gives you all the same bonuses as 20. CK: Atlanta/New York, is this one or the other? They have to be bought separately. SC: Physical Science, this is too broad. Narrow it down to like chemistry, physics, astronomy, etc. I also noticed that you bought up many of the skills you invested in, to the tune of about 20 points worth. If you invest those 20 points into 2 overall levels you will get more 'general' bang for the buck. The trade off would be that you could only use those levels once a phase and you would not be as 'good' if you had to spread yourself out. The levels with Olihandrew should be either 3 points per level or 5 points per level. They are related enough I would let you squeak by with 3 points per level. I don't recall seeing any skill levels that are 4 points per level, at least not in 5ER. I am not that familiar with 6E in case that changed. If Olihandrew comes to you whenever you want or need it, much like Mjoliner (sp?) you might consider taking it as a Physical Manifestation (-1/4). Then it can be targeted, or even destroyed (in theory) and you could reform it as a half phase action. (At least that is the way I recall. It might be reformed as a zero phase action. I'll have to double check). With a Business Rank of 6 I need to know what major business entity are you the CEO of? (If that is included in your background I withdraw the question as I have not read it yet). The 'only in contact with a surface' limitation for your blitz movement is...invalid. Running is already in contact with the ground. Your force field has a 'req skill roll' on it, what skill does it refer too? What triggers your Berserk? You have two rivalries that I have no information on. I will need more data before I sign off on them. If your 'neutral white' aura is always visible you can take that as a Distinctive Feature. Well, that's all for now. I've got to get to bed. I have a long day ahead of me tomorrow.
Any chance of getting character sheets in the game soon?
I put what I've done so far on converting/adapting Crimson Knight on Drop Box. BTW do you have Hero Designer? I use HD2.42 for all my character work so if you just want to give me your HDC files it would make my life that much easier!
You mean like a Roll20 Character sheet? I've never use that function of the site and frankly have never looked into it. I know there is a version for 6E available out there somewhere. Even if I had a 5ER version to use I don't know what the advantages of using it would be.
Here's my character draft, without the disadvantages yet <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/sh/yhjnlecv6vh07g0/AACTjaD" rel="nofollow">https://www.dropbox.com/sh/yhjnlecv6vh07g0/AACTjaD</a>...

I took the other suggestions and the rivals/CEO will be in the backstory. I have to tweak it. As for the computer thing that was a carry over from the old character. The GM ruled it as "basic computer operation" I'll delete it. I'm using the newer version of hero designer, so i can share the files.
I have uploaded the hdc file for Judgement to dropbox.&nbsp; Let me know if I need, or you suggest, to make any changes.
Aegeta: When I was looking over your skills you paid extra points for higher skill rolls in Acrobatics (2 points), Analyze Combat (4 points), Criminology (4 points), Deduction (6 points) , Interrogation (4 points), and Tactics (6 points), 26 points more than the base purchase Absolutely nothing wrong with that! For 20 points you get 2 overall levels that you can use on any skill roll and also be able to use them on +2 OCV and/or +2 DCV. You would have skill rolls i.e. Your Deduction would remain 13 or less, 15 or less with both overall levels on it, instead of the 16 or less you have now by paying 9 points but because overall levels can be used with anything that you have a full skill in (not familiarities) you would have a bit more versatility and it would cost you 6 points less. That was all I was saying.

Jeremy: Thank you! I'll grab it when I get home tonight. Sigh, duty calls. Never mind, I'll grab it now! I am at my core an impatient cuss!
I see I am making test changes and will get your buy in on them later.

Draft 2 <a href="https://drive.google.com/open?id=1DL30wwkvYpWYc2R-UF3rDrTPoNPNDLph" rel="nofollow">https://drive.google.com/open?id=1DL30wwkvYpWYc2R-UF3rDrTPoNPNDLph</a>&nbsp; found a Thor made with Hero system and modeled the sword as an OAF with an indirect teleportation connected directly to the Soul Forge.
That link is not working for me, Aegeta.
Its you. I totally DIDN'T have to fix a space that was in the link somehow. Also working on the backstory now.
Uploaded backstory as well.
Thank you sir! I'll grab it when I get home.
I still may be fixing some things I noticed wouldn't work lol
The last character I built with the intention to play went through 9 revisions before the GM and we're satisfied with it, so no problems! Fix away until your happy with it.
This character has seen 5 GMs with this system and none had a session 1 lol
Urk!? when you say 'it hasn't seen 1 session' do you mean you haven't had a chance to play it in an actual game? I don't expect to be home before 9 CST but I'll check what I can then.
Yeah. lol I played a Mutants and Masterminds version of this guy but never a Hero system version.
How do you like it?
I found mutants and mastermind really easy to abuse.&nbsp;
I am a fan of Hero Systems, I've played a little (very little) of M&M but not enough to establish an understanding of the rules.
lol i meant my character build and backstory :P
I didn't get home until midnight so I haven't gone through it all yet. I sent you a PM about where I stopped reading the backstory (which has been fine, I just want to make sure of the timeline of the tale right in my mind).

Yes I have to rework the timeline now that I know the heroes haven't been gone for years. Re upload with a few changes.
I still want to go over the characters that have been submitted. Honestly weekends are the worst time for me except for the one Sunday I take off a month (or will be starting to take off starting next month). The rest of the weekends I barely have time to sleep let alone get any meaningful work done on the game.
Marco: Your character is FINE! Very clean and straight-forward. I like! I do need to see the disads and so forth. Do you have a thumbnail for the medium who drew you to this world? If not I will be happy to put something together before game day. I have been thinking about her and the forces that brought you here, it could be...um...very interesting! Bwa-ha-ha (Evil laugh)&nbsp; }:&gt;
Andrew: I will poke around and see if anyone has a 5ER character sheet out there for us to use. I have no idea how to assemble one (even if I had that level of access, which I kinda doubt).
Roll20 has a 6E sheet, but it is literally just the sheet no auto rollers or anything.
Thanks Gene, if that's the case, I'll stick with the current character I have, and use the new model then. I'm still working on the disadvantages and trying to tie it to the character. But Code vs Killing and distinctive looks are in. DNPC (Milly) and Hunted by Imagicka too :)
I have some micros that were developed in another game I plan to bring over. They might help...hopefully
For the token
Marco: The thing that most important to me is that my players have the character they want, do don't try to give me what I want, play what you want! I am very adaptable!
*nod nod* will do, the prehensile hair power is something I've always thought was pretty cool, even for male characters. I'll use him then
