Character Draft

I haven't yet started a character because I am unsure what the group needs the most. Once I have that I can crank out something quick.
Based on my memory, I over slept and was nearly late for work, we gave: Paladin; a martial artist Attitus; power suit, nanite, armored adventurer Apex; flying brackish Marvel Girl; flying brackish I will review my notes and add more details when time permits. *sob* I'm the most overworked GM in the universe!
Ok, I can work with that. :D
I aim to please!
Okay, I have a few ideas: Hotspot, flying fire blaster Swift, speedster Sparks, gadgets What build rules and point values are we using?
Ah, now you hit on the rub. You are free to look at the house rules ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/21jximn55hykuc4/HouseRules.pdf?dl=0 ) but I will try to summarize the biggest changes here. Base 200, Disads 150 (mx 50 per one category), I allow up to 20 points in (pre-approved) packaged deals, if you are playing with the Normal Characteristic Limitation disadvantage you get a 20 point bonus for that, and finally 5 single point quirks (as per GURPS) Examples of quirks can be : Serious Sweet Tooth, Lives on Italian Food, Sleeps with the Window Open, Sleeps in the Nude, Hates Chinese Food, Coffee Snob, Will Try Any Drug That Isn't Liable To Kill Him, etc. Also depending on his/her wealth he/she has access to mundane equipment you don't need to pay points for. This is usually a cell phone, personal computer, a conventional handgun, etc. Basically things you can get from the Hero System Equipment guide. Resource and Money points are explained (at least I hope they are explained) starting on page 6 of the house rule PDF linked to above. We use 5ER (Fifth Edition Revised) modified. The modifications are in the above PDF. 5th Edition did away with Regeneration and Instant Change from 4th Edition, but I understand they brought back one of them in 6th Edition. In my game you can use Instant Change & Regeneration from 4th Edition or the patchwork creation they put forth in 5ER. Either (both?) are acceptable to me. Now that I am home (waiting for my split shift to start again) some more details about the other Characters: Paladin; martial artist. His claim to fame is a extremely lethal autofired, armor piercing punch Atticus: nanite based power armor and powers. Not a brick, he uses a bow and arrows but he can also use his bow as a club. APEX: His powers stem from magic. He can fly, super strong, and has a mixed bag of tricks he has yet to reveal. Marvel Girl: She can fly, super strong. She is the strongest member of the group. She also knows some martial maneuvers. I think that hits the highlights. Oh, they are members of the hero team (one of the few on the planet) The Brooklyn Brigade. They have a corporate sponsor: Prometheus Medical Technologies. Their 'boss' Cassandra Clemons provides them with a base, some vehicles, and provides a salary for each of them (with health benefits). In exchange Prometheus have control of their public image and keeps the royalties earned from the sale of tshirts, lunch boxes, action figures, and so forth. Now and then the Brigade does a public event that generates money for Prometheus and fund various charities.
I have sent you the stuff. Also, I cannot find the Discord, or were we not using it. I am easily confused.
We used Discord because one of our players was in Australia and had constant issues with Skype, but Skype works better for the rest of us. He, however, left the game, so we are back to using Skype now. My Skype name is leonard.gene.smith I am not sure how to introduce you character tomorrow (4PM EST) but I am pondering it. Any suggestions why Kismet would be in Metropolis?
I have skype so I am good there. Kismet could have transferred to Metropolis U, as she is a college student. She may also be sick of the GPD or whomever was Watching her (I just used 'Law Enforcement' 8-, Watching only, NCI) because of her past juvie record coupled with new powers... not realizing that a simple phone call from her GPD handler to the the Science Police would just change who was Watching her. She was written to have a grittier background than Metropolis, though I don't think she's Gotham/Bludhaven level gritty yet. Also, being in Metropolis might get her out of whatever small-time gang she was with for a while and make her Wealth accessable as her parents may be distant but would approve of her moving and getting away from the 'thug life' to earn her degree. Her other Hunted could be Brother Blood's Cult of Trigon, which would actually survive for a while even if he disappeared and who also have a habit of kidnapping people for brainwashing. That cult, even without Blood, would probably remain functional for a while if Blood was among the villains who were disappeared... and that too, spans multiple cities, so she might think they were left behind when she transferred. Just some ideas to get her there. 4 PM EST is 1 PM PST so I will be online and add you. Now I need bed.
The group is actually based in New York city. They have been dubbed the Brooklyn Brigade (one of two hero groups in New York, the other is the Minutemen; Captain Metropolis, Dollar Bill, Dollar Girl, Hooded Justice, Moloch, Mothman, Nite Owl, Rorschach, Silhouette, Silk Spectre, and the Comedian). There is something of a rivalry between the two groups. Metropolis is about 150 miles SW of New York, Gotham is about 50 miles SW of New York (and about 100 North of Metropolis). These, of course, are rough distances. Speaking of New York the upper floors of the Baxter Building and the Avenger's mansion are both vacant. No one seems to know what to do with the Baxter Building so life continues as usual. The lower floors are still rented out to businesses and over seen by a management company. As for the Avenger's Mansion there was some rumblings that Jarvis, their butler, has been trying to recruit a new team but without luck. Either no one is 'qualified' or those who are 'qualified' are not interested.
Alrighty, I am cool with these changes, and am implementing them. I will be ready.
