Splitting the Party Between Pages

Is it possible to send one party member to a different page and as the GM switch between the pages for interacting with both groups? And if this is possible I have a question about chat: If the party is split, do they only see chat when I'm on their page? I.E I'm on Page 1 - I chat "Hey" - Party Members on Page 1 see it  - Party Member of Page 2 doesn't see it. I have a scenario where I have a cursed intelligent bag of holding that's going to swallow one or two of the party members and the rest of the group have to find a way to pry it open and drop down a rope or something for them to get out. Am I just going to have to move the "Players" ribbon back and forth constantly and deal with each group one at a time?

You can drag player avatars to individual pages to split them from the group. Once there you can simply switch between pages yourself by clicking on them. To return players back to the group you'd just drag the avatar from the new page back to the ribbon. The chat is a little bit more complex, all players will see the chat so your best bet would be to use whispers. If you want to whisper to multiple people at once and have them able to see what they write back to you I would recommend setting up a journal for the bag and give the eaten players edit access to it (you don't have to put it in their journal view however). Then you can use /w "Cursed Bag of Holding" ?{What do you want to say} as a macro to talk to them (tip: put yourself as an edit controller too so you can have a full conversation without needing /w GM blocking it for other eaten people)... you'll need to give the players access to the macro too (you could even put it as a token action for a token representing the bag on the 'bag interior' page so they can click the token, click the action and type the reply with relative ease for the sake of keeping the flow going). Alternatively you could have a sub-game for the 'off page' people and use the chat there as a private room?

Thanks. That's a relief. I was searching for info on this and found a 4 year old post saying you couldn't split the party but I wanted to ask in case the feature had been added since then. Seems it has. Thank you very much for your informative post. I appreciate it. Cheers!

Happy to help... the  wiki is always a good place to start should you need anything else but the forums are chock full of helpful people should you not find your answers on the first pass :)
Another option, depending on exactly what is happening, is to put two maps on one page, and put a line of sight blocking dynamic lighting wall around each map.

I'm using Fog of War on some of my maps but haven't gotten into using dynamic lighting yet. I have to read more about the functionality on the wiki before I delve into that but you're right that may be an option. I worry however that that could make the page laggy or long to load. I tend to use very large maps (60x60, 80x80 and 100x100 are common in my game and I may have to go even bigger to load a high res map of an entire city here soon) but it's worth a try.

I'd advise against anything 100x100+... you can cause your game to become unresponsive on loading. Also, if using big maps make sure to put the player ribbon on a small sized 'splash' page after each session, this will help those with lower end machines load into the game quicker ;) For large cities I tend to have a page per district to prevent massive maps, you can always have a handout with the full map on for them to reference.
I think 100x100 is the largest I'll ever need. I have a small desert city map, it's not a large city maybe 7 or 8 buildings, that I want to make 100x100 and have labels for all the buildings so the players can enter them all from the main town map. The highest I've gone so far is 95x75 for a dungeon and it has no issues loading and is super responsive.

Just another warning from experience... large maps (lets say 75x75+ for the sake of erring on the side of caution) may start to have issues for you and your players once you begin dabbling in Dynamic Lighting, it can be pretty resource intensive for complex maps... but you can always try, there are ways we can get in to fix overload issues if needed ;)
Shift+left click should help too.  THat will drop a ping on the map while moving what everyone views to that specific point on the map.
