Drag Established Characters as Tokens Onto Maps

I would like to see a feature which will allow game creators to drag a character from the journal to the currently selected map. The character would need to have an established icon selected, but I believe this sort of feature would save me a huge amount of time, especially if I am creating the map on the fly during a session. This way I could keep some map templates archived (maybe something like cave, forest, town, etc), and just drag out copies of the characters I needed when things don't go as planned. What do you think?

Good news, Mixolydius. This feature already exists. It is called "Default Token" and is configured on the Bio & Info Tab > Edit, of a Character. Wiki docs for this, https://wiki.roll20.net/Journal#Bio_.26_Info_Tab Before you get started, take a look at the Token set-up advice on this wiki page: https://wiki.roll20.net/Linking_Tokens_to_Journals If this answer fulfills your idea, let us know, and a Mod can close the thread to return your +1 vote.

I'm confused.(often, actually...) Apologies if I'm missing the point. Can't you do this already using a properly linked token with a journal/sheet? example; I often make a "Bestiary" of monsters that I can drag/drop from the sidebar to any map and I can do the same for characters as well. edit: Gold beats me as usual. ;-P
Perfect! I had hoped this method already worked, but I did not try the shift click. Please close this. Thank you!
