[LFG] Want to Try Out Some Different Systems...

Hello! No stranger to Roll20 or RPGs, having played D&D5e and Pathfinder many, many times, but I'd like to try something different. Here are the ones I've been looking at lately: World of Darkness (Vanilla preferred, but could go for one of the [Blank]:the [Blankining]s) Unknown Armies Paranoia Call of Cthulhu Rogue Trader/Dark Heresy Shadowrun I'm somewhat familiar with all of them and own the sourcebooks for all but Dark Heresy and Shadowrun, so I wouldn't be completely blind going in, but I haven't actually sat down and played any of them. Mood Preferably nothing too serious- I like it when the group can just start laughing over a flubbed roll or a one-liner. Nothing too grimdark either. I know it's a given with certain settings, but 1) a little levity now and again isn't going to kill things, and 2) I've probably read one-too-many "worst RPG experience" threads on Reddit, and am wary of "this setting is grim/dark" being used as an excuse to take it too far (i.e. rape) .  Availability With my current schedule, Thursdays and Fridays are my only available days. I work closing shifts, so late nights any other day wouldn't work, unfortunately. Time zone is Pacific Standard. EDIT: Added Shadowrun to the list.
Hey there. This seems interesting. As someone new to Tabletops, I was looking to try some new systems, so I would be down for a different game than D&D. I would only really be able to play World of Darkness and Call of Chuthulu, cause those are the only games I have material for. So if you want to do a game on those, I'm interested :). Availability for me is not an issue for the near future.

You both could try Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.  Excellent combat system.  I have materials to send to you.

It's a very good system.  Fantasy Battles (now Warhammer Total War since GDW dropped the board game) and Blood Bowl both came out of this system.  If your interested, send me a message.  What type of character do you want to play?  I'll step you through character creation.  It's pretty easy.  I'll also need your email so I can send source materials.

I mean, I like healers, or berserkers, but I know not if these are possible character archetypes.

We need a healer, a thief and one more fighter.  For a healer, there's two directions to go:  A priest that casts divine spells or a physician/surgeon.  Warhammer is unique in that you start in one of a hundred different careers and then choose from a number of career exits, new careers.  So it's open ended in terms of the type of character you can create.  So a starting career might be a Barber-Surgeon (healer) and that has a career exit of Interrogator, Grave Robber, Physician, Tradesman or Vagabond, and you choose which new career you want.  If you don't like the exits, you can spend more XP and go into something completely different.  Each career comes with it core stat advancements, skills and talents (which affect skills).  And yes, there are multiple types of Berserkers, ranging from Troll Slayers to Norseman.
That sounds so cool. Would be interesting to play a surgeon

On the one hand, I was kinda looking to stray away from fantasy settings. On the other, after reading up on Warhammer (I'm assuming 2nd edition is the one you're talking about?), I admit it's got some mechanics that interest me.

Ya, can't really help there, also new to those systems :(
CoC is one of the more easier systems to pickup.  Skill based % and you roll % to determine outcome. The new (7th) edition even has a quickstart with sample module. Plus pregens are on chaosium.com

I would run the WFRP campaign and it wouldn't be bumpy at all.  However, the issue comes down to your current availability.  One of our current members isn't available on Thursday or Friday nights due to work, the only times you are currently available.  So if your schedule changes, please let me know.
