Actually, on some reflection, playing an Elf in a mostly Drow based campaign would be bad, and playing a Human in an underdark campaign would also be bad, so Slip the Forrest Gnome Rogue it is! Slip Female Forrest Gnome Rogue Age: 29 Height: 2' 10" Weight: 37lbs Slip spent her entire life a slave to the Red Wizard Amzif. He was a thoughtlessly cruel Dwarf, never actively being malicious, but malicious through inaction. He was also supremely megamaniacal, as most Red Wizards are. He bought Slip when she was just barely weaned from her mother specifically so he might have a more comfortable Dwarf sized home. He never bothered to learn what race of Gnomes the young girl came from. He taught her to read and write both the common tongue and her native langue. The first so she could more easily fulfill tasks he set for her, such as shopping for the mundane goods necessary to maintain a household. The second so she could read to him the engineering and mathematical works of the Gondish Faith he personally found to banal to read himself. Slip learned to communicate with the little animals of the world quickly, barely 15 and she could easily communicate with all the squirrels, rats and mice of her masters estates. She called them her little friends and talking to them was the young girls only joy. When she began to hit puberty her natural magical abilities began to manifest, she was extremely surprised the first time she threw up an illusion of a small footstool around herself. Not surprised enough to break the illusion and call to her furious master whom had just found the fifth squirrel living in her meager chamber that month, but surprised none the less. As she gained more control over her meager magic Slip began to devise a plan to escape her bastard of a master. Her Master maintained a tunnel to an old Dwarven Underway, this road had been abandoned when an earthquake had struck the area several hundred years ago, putting a massive crack in the tunnel and opening it to the greater Underdark. After many many months of preparing and planning Slip slipped out the gate her Master kept on the passage with her favorite Squirrel Rechip, a small dagger she had bought on one of her many unaccompanied shopping trips and enough food to last both her and Rechip several weeks. Then she got caught.....
Hi Aerie! Here's my character.  Name: silver Age: 30 Character name: Bran Stormwind Character race: Human Character class: Fighter Character backstory: out of character - I don't have a backstory right now, but I'm thinking he comes from a noble background and his family is in the merchant trading business. His dad hired a retired dwarf fighter to train Bran in combat. In one of Bran's training sessions, they both were attacked by (insert adventure hook here, the mentor was taken away) and now, Bran is on a mission to find his dwarven mentor.

Hi!  Name:Parker Age:19 Character name: Iffe Hae Character race: Human Character class: Monk Character backstory: A veteran of combat, Iffe has seen the horrors of the world. The things brothers and sisters will do to one another for any advantage. Living for years as a footsoldier has taught him that the path to ruin is fraught with good intentions, and when he looked around him in the field of battle, all he could see were the well-intended. After losing much of his comrades in a brutal skirmish, Iffe ran, forsaking his duty and abandoning his post.  He fled to the local wilderness to find shelter and make a new life for himself in the wilds, and that was when he encountered the monastery. The monks there welcomed him with open arms, and he learned true peace in their teachings. Through communing with nature, he was studying to interact with the elements of the plane. But no haven is safe forever, and this monastery was always temporary. Iffe's captain, Oltho, was none to happy to hear of Iffe's cowardice, but when he was contacted by a monk from the monastery he was studying, Oltho had rallied a small army to take the land by force. Iffe awoke to the smothering smoke and sounds of chaos, watching his teachers brutally murdered before him. He wanted desperately to fight, but he couldn't push himself over the circle of flames keeping him from his masters. So, once more, Iffe ran into the wilderness. Lemme know if you need anything else or if i need to change this to fit the story. Super flexible.
