I've been a GM for around 15 years and I absolutely love GMing. So with the large number of players interested in D&D, and seemingly not enough GMs to run sessions I thought I'd try to see if I could encourage people into GMing. The idea of the session would be that we, as a group would come up with a simple plot for a one shot, go through the various encounters that would happen, rules that we would need, how to roleplay the NPCs and their dialogue etc., how to set all these things up in roll20 and finally how to recruit players and run the game. Thus, at the end of the session (~1 hour) you'd have everything you would need to run this one shot adventure either in person, or over roll20. This session will be completely suitable for people who have never played D&D before. As long as you've seen a bit of it in action, whether that's because you've watched over your brother's shoulder, seen Matt Mercer on critical roll, or have listened to any of the great podcasts out there. That's all the experience you need to start as a GM. We'll have a roll20 session set up for the interactive parts of the session, as well as a twitch stream (where you'll be able to see my roll20 screen) so I can show you what I'm doing to set things up. Everything will be kept nice and simple and then at the end of the sessions you'll be fully ready to run our one shot adventure for some players. Even as a brand new GM, I can promise you that there are loads of players that would gladly jump at the chance for you to GM for them. Would this kind of session be of interest to anyone? If it proved popular I'd like to grow it into a series, looking at different types of encounters and adventures each time. If you have any queries, thoughts, suggestions, ideas or insults please put them below and I'll try to get back to you as quickly as possible. I've set up a campaign to enable me to get in contact more easily keep in contact with people interested: Join Here We'll keep the campaign for arranging times, other discussions would be best done here to get as many people involved in the discussion as possible.
