[LFP] Darkness of the Heart: a grim, open-world experience [Weekly Saturdays 1PM EDT/5PM UTC]

Introduction Sickness of war, poverty, famine, and catastrophe. The war between the Laenasies and the Coalition of Brothers (Khloros, Hochthal, and Hohheim) has grown cold. The dwarves of Tristifuld plot the finishing of their Machine God. The orcs of Rekr prepare for another Ramble. The horse-lords of the Omidi ride again. The Hathriseth wish to wake the Leviathan. There is a sickness in The Heart. And they intend for you to die in the cold. What This Game Is Greetings, potential player! My name is Nathan and what I have set before you is a massive undertaking of mine. I have gone about creating a truly open-world sandbox experience for my players. This isn't a unique thing to do, but I feel like it is something that is unfortunately so niche that it is near unique.I want to create an environment for characters, for  people , to have a will to power that drives them to seek their fortune, power, destiny, or what have you. What does this mean? This mean that this game has: No Quests Linear Stories Invincible Villains / Good Guys Golden Path Dictated right or wrong answer Assumptions of morality or ethos Punches pulled Tons of Characters with goals, passions, and ideals Danger Death Intrigue Meaningful Victories Crushing Defeats Waxing (or waning?) Empires Old Gods New Gods This being in mind means I want to foster players that want to make true-to-fantasy-life characters with similar harsh realities, goals, passions, and ideals. I'm not interested in telling a story to four or five other adults or to narrate the actions of a group of tiny gods. I'm interested in running a world and breathing life into the characters of my own creation. I want you to kill those characters, befriend those characters, be killed by those characters. I want to do all the behind the curtain things. I want my players to band together for a common goal supported by their own individual goals. I want them to make their story as they interact with the world they so unfortunately find themselves in. This has all the potential of being either amazing, a failure, and a giant headache, but it is something I  yearn  to do. As you go into this game I solemnly pledge to not tell you where to go, not to tell you what you cannot do, who you cannot kill, who you cannot work for. I pledge to merely be the world and its inhabitants (and a referee of the rules as needed!) while supporting the ground you walk on, but not your feet. This means I will not fudge rolls or outcomes for myself or for any of your characters. I will not save the life of any character of mine or yours just because I'd prefer it to be that way. Will there be characters you cannot kill? Only because you yourselves do not have the resources or power to overcome them. And so, I invite you into The Heart. What This Game Is Not While I am allowing "anything goes" I mean it in the rules of reality sense. This is not FATAL or anything of the sort. I will not support a group of players that strive to be a band of roving rapists. This game is rated R by the ESRB for gratuitous violence, language, suggestive themes, and the lot of a horror movie. This game is not AO rated and if anything that I personally do not feel comfortable roleplaying, which is mainly anything erotic, then it will either not occur because I expect you to not bring it up or it will be the fade to black situation. If this sounds overall interesting to you then please check out  the LFG LISTING  for the player responsibilities, technical details, and the application process. Questions can be asked of me here, there, and via PM. (Reupload due to a mistake on my part, sorry!) Thank you for your time and happy gaming!
Applications continue to be open for another two weeks.
