New Player looking to Get my feet wet; fantasy preferred (D&D, Pathfinder etc...)

Hi 29 year old mature player here looking to sink my teeth into a fun game.  I am very open minded and don't know much about tabletop rpgs or Roll 20 this is my first day looking for friends to play with.  I'm hoping to play a lighter more casual game at first just to get my feet wet.  I really don't know anything about these games other than the fact that I've always wanted to try one.  I have a few ideas for characters, not quite sure what races yet more than likely something along the lines of a human/elf or whatever haha again I really don't know much this is my first time.  Usually when I play online rpgs with my friends I'm the spell caster, generally the healer, or Damage type guy.  When I play single player games I usually find myself as a sword and board type character.  I don't mind being on a camera or just straight voice chat.  I look forward to hearing from you.  Thanks!!!     I should also mention I prefer nights EST like 7 pm and later.  Thanks again!!!

I’m looking for a DM and a few more for a Thursday or Friday 9pm CDT 7pm EST. The friends that I have playing are all noobs as well so praying for a seasoned DM that can hold several hands. 

Hmmm... I wonder how open minded you are.... Text Only Numenera game, Saturdays at 8pm Eastern (to midnight most weeks). Numenera isn't D&D; it's a weird take on Fantasy set a billion years in the future. Humanity has emerged from another dark ages and rebuilds among the ruins of eight previous grand civilizations. Most humans think the ancient tech is magic and spirits, but a few know the truth. The PCs are just beginning to learn this truth themselves. Game is about two months in, but we lost a player due to real-life conflict and need a fourth. Right now they're searching for a lost sea captain who may be an iteration of their friend from back home... or they may be iterations of his friends from back home. If that confused you, you're right where you should be. I use discord as an OOC channel, but all the game is played on Roll20. If that might be of interest, PM me for more. I would certainly accept a short term player if I knew going in that was the plan.
