I was getting together some things on a test game and during character creation there are not options for ability score generation. Also there are many things missing from backgrounds, subraces, class features, etc... What am I missing to have these options available for players when I decide to actually run my games?

If you are talking about the Compendium, the only things in it are from the SRD unless you have purchased the Roll20 PHB and other products. Those you can share in your game through the settings page, up to 5 members.

One other question if you can... I keep seeing stuff about the "Roll20 Fifth Edition OGL Sheet" but the only thing I find is a D&D 5e Roll 20 sheet. Are they the same? Or am I missing something?

I don't play 5e so I can not answer that but usually if it is part of the official Roll20 licenced material, it would be in the Compendium when purchased. You can always email the devs (<a href="mailto:team@roll20.net" rel="nofollow">team@roll20.net</a>) with your questions if no one else can answer them.
