how do I add a character to a game on a free account? do I have to give my DM an overall description of my character, and they do it, or is there some way for me to upload a new character on my own? also, I cant find the sheets.

The DM has to assign a sheet to you in game, which you can then fill out. edit: as for pictures, once the sheet is assigned to you, you can hit edit (top right of the sheet) and upload to the avatar, jpg or png only, less than 10 MB.

The GM has to give you Edit permission of a character sheet.
