Hey
everyone! I have an
idea of running player-focused text-based game for 3 to 4 players maximum in a
heavily simplified version of D&D. What’s the basic idea? You don’t
build characters for my story, instead I build the story around your
characters. I have the main plot that you can follow if you would like to but
the main story will be around the
characters you make. You will have your own unique spells and abilities that
rely on your character’s backstory. You can tell me what aspects of your
backstory you want to develop during the game (find lost sibling, revenge
someone, etc.), what secrets do you want to keep from your teammates or what
powers to obtain. How will the game go? So my plan is
that you say that you want to join in, give me your character idea, together we
work on the skills your character has, people that character has connection to
in this world, character’s knowledge of the maps, cities, history and
everything else that is needed. We will
still have rolls for initiative, attacks and defense (if you decide to fight),
special moves, persuasion and everything else that is needed but we will use
simplified mechanics. What are expectations? I want it
to be a story about your characters and because of that I want to play with
people who love to role-play, you can even skip all the fighting if you feel
like it. I need you
to communicate with me, this whole game is about you and your character and I
want to make this experience as pleasant for you as possible. I am not an
experienced DM but – as I said
before – I will do everything to make your game as pleasing as possible. When will be the game? Games will
be in Discord and Roll20 on Wednesdays or Sundays, certain time will be decided
