[LFP]] DM - Interest Check in 5e - Waterdeep Dragon Heist (new DM - evenings, CST)

Hey all - Have played a few games on FG before, and looking to try out the DM side of the game here on R20.  I've DM'd for tabletop groups in the past, but finding it harder and harder to meetup IRL for gaming (I'm 40, 2 kids, time is a precious commodity!) I'm pretty familiar with the adventure and a long-time D&D guy.  Pertinent details on my end are below - if you're interested, please post with a few details about yourself (age, D&D experience, when you can play, etc.)  If there's enough interest I'll startup a game send some invites out. Game:  Full run through of Waterdeep:  Dragon Heist Times :  I'm a 9-5 guy, so looking at games during the week - 8pm - Midnight CST .  Probably Mondays or Thursdays . Voice via Discord, everything else here on R20 I'm a big fan of RP but only asks that everyone try their best - looking to have a fun, imaginative game so if you don't have a good sense of humor, or of your character, or imagination - may not be your cuppa' tea I'm also a big fan of atmosphere - so expect lots of visuals, sound (music, etc.), etc.  The adventure itself is flush with great content so I'll do my best to pull out the relevant parts with flourish. Rules :  Open to considering any modifications, suggested homebrew content, etc., but as I've only GM'd a few times, looking to keep things pretty standard. Etiquette :  This will be a friendly environment  for anyone who wants to play.  Period.  Doesn't mean that we can't have grit or sensitive topics at the table but respect will be expected. What I want to know! Age - 18+ no exceptions.  Would prefer a more mature / older crowd but have met TONS of "kids" that bring more maturity than adults so anything goes so long as 18+ :)  Experience - Open to new players, but some familiarity with 5e / d20 games is obviously preferred. Should go without saying you need a mic, familiarity with R20, etc.   Ideally this will turn into a longer campaign than just Waterdeep, if we find a good group of players!
Hey Ben, I'm Erik (27). I'm also 9-5 so the time slot works out for me. I've been trying to find a game on Roll20 for awhile now, beyond the home game I DM for friends. I know very little about Dragon Heist, but I love city games!  I'm fairly experienced with Roll20 and 5e (though I have played 5e very little, mostly DM'd it). I'm a pretty easy going person and hope we can get this ball rolling.
I've been wanting to try this module. I'm 29, 2-time college graduate with a working mic. Experience-wise I've been playing TTRPGs since around 2011, much of that time as a GM. I've run and played a plethora of systems (many of which are less-than-common) and have played a handful of D&D 5e sessions, including an in-person campaign. Let me know if you want another player! I do prefer to play charisma-based or dex-based characters, so if there's room I'd be happy to play the face of the heist team, or a specialist thief.
While I do meet the age requirement it's barely, by 2 years. I do have experience playing this game (about a year, but I pour a lot of time into this as one of my main hobbies) and have heard this adventure is a fun one. You sound like a really chilled out DM, which is hard to find somehow, and I'd love to play in a game on Mondays or Thursdays since I'm already up at those times regardless. Oh, and, of course, you can just call me Light because everyone I know does.
Greetings, I go by moon, am 22 years old so I meet the age requirement and have played for 2.5 years in dnd 5e. I could play on thrusday though mondays are booked for me and I had a few ideas for classes from homebrew that another group of mine help set up. Have a mic and experience with roll20 (christ I spent over 2 thousand hours on this site, TT). Hope to play and if not hope you have a fun time
Hello, I go by Soviet, I am 17 I know your looking for 18+ for maturity but I will attempt to take this role play as serious  as possible i'm a little new to d&d but I've done my reading on the play hand book and i was interest in joining. I can play at most time seeing as my work schedule is fairly short and i get off at 5. I have a nice mic and have discord. I've used roll20 in another D&D campaign but the Dm quit on us. I'm very interest in joining and sorry for not meeting the age requirement but i still hope to play with you
Hello, I go by Joe, I am 23 years old. I have been playing role playing games for about 4 years now, but only about 10 months for 5e specifically, however I am running a 5e campaign IRL on Fridays. I'm a cooperative person and I'm up for pretty much anything. Currently I do not have a job at the moment but I am in the Pacific Timezone so I'm not too far off timewise.

Hey Ben, I'm in the same kind of boat as you re:time, though I'm only 29. I absolutely love role-play (often more than combat!), so I think we'd work well together. I would love to be a part of this campaign, but could probably only do it Monday nights. I'm very experienced with Roll20 and 5e. Been looking for a heist campaign that suits my schedule, so would be very interested.

Hi, My name's Jack, I'm 18 years old. I've been doing 5e for about three years now, and I've been sitting at a roleplay table for several more. I like to play simple characters and flesh out their personality traits to the highest degree, more so than making characters with complex backstories but failing to roleplay them out to the nuance that they deserve. My favorite type of combat is a battle whose outcome is determined by creative thinking and clever tactics instead of number crunching and dice roles.  My schedule is mostly open, and I can do sessions at any time past 4 pm EST on weekdays (excluding Thursday), and any time at all on weekends (excluding Saturday morning). The Dragon Heist module seems like it's absolutely beautiful, but I've never gotten the chance to play it up until now. I'd be very interested in it if you'll have me, and can play a variety of characters and roles to suit the needs of the party.
Hey there, my name's Nick. I've got access to a mic and Discord and whatnot, I'm open most evenings and can try t work my schedule to be more flexible if needed, and I have a few months' experience on Roll20, although I've been playing 5e IRL for a few years. I turned 19 a little under 4 motnhs ago. In a team dynamic, I prefer playing a healer who isn't afraid to get his hands dirty. If there's anything else you'd like to know about me or anything you'd like to tell me in regards to following up on applying for your campaign, please inform me! I've been looking all over for a group of people to enjoy a long, complex campaign with for a while, and I hope this is it!
Hi Ben!  I'm Ricardo, and I'm 34 years old. I'm really interested in playing Waterdeep Heist! I'm a new player and haven't played D&D5E yet BUT I've bought the Player's Manual (reading it atm), I have created a character (who's originally from Waterdeep) with a fully fledged background. I've listened to a couple of podcasts from Dice, Camera, Action and I've played RPG's all my life (Final Fantasy, WoW, Diablo, Divinity Original Sin, Elder Scrolls, Dragon Age etc). I have a major in filmmaking and I'm also a writer working on my 3rd novel at the moment. I've delved into various sights including: ROLL20, Fantasy Ground, DnD Beyond etc... I'm familiar with Waterdeep (I love the setting also) since I play with my wife the board game Lords of Waterdeep and have read through a bit of the lore that comes spread out in the game. I have a passion for stories. I love them. I'm also an avid reader, fantasy and non-fiction (From Tolkien to novels by William Faulkner). I would love to role-play (I did this a lot with my students when I taught literature), have a good time, and get creative. The proposed time and day of the week is perfect for me. Thanks for the opportunity and I hope I can be part of your campaign!
Hi all - I sent out a first round of invites.  If you didn't get one, please PM me and I'll let you know if we end up with anyone dropping out as we still have to figure out a schedule, etc. If you're reading this for the first time, please don't hesitate to drop me a note or post on here with your interest if you'd like to get in.  I'm more than happy to add +1 to the party if you're a good fit.  And, we're going to do a few "mini-sessions" to get started to make sure the group is gelling before we commit to 12-15 sessions together.
Hey Ben, myself and my 2 roommates are so down to join your campaign on Monday nights if you'll have us. Myself and one of my roommates are experienced DnD 5e players and my other roommate has just started playing in my offline campaign but is fun to play with nonetheless. We would love to be a part of this game and can be flexible with race and class choices. Please let us know if any or all of us could join, I promise we will commit (seriously, we are all horribly addicted to this game). We are all over 18 also, btw.
Good gaming folks!
Also a 9-5 guy here in mid-30s. I've been playing 5e for several years now and am eager to find a waterdeep campaign. Im a pretty chill player and prefer a fun group of players versus serious method actors. Let me know if you have room for one more.
Hey there. My name is Joel. I'm 32 and have been playing for around 2 years. I've done a few campaigns on Roll20, so I have a decent amount of experience with the system. I like the role play aspect of the game, and like to work with a team of people to find new and interesting ways of solving problems. If the game is on a Thursday night then I'm in, but Mondays I can't do. Good luck with the campaign either way!
@Ben - Another 9-5 guy here... Just following up with this LFG post. Is the group still doing "mini-sessions"? If so, what days? Looking for Thursday nights. Thanks!
Heya! 30 yr old long-time DM and player here. Either the Thursday or Monday time slot works for me and I'd love to play a Dragon Heist game. Drop me a line if y'all are still looking for players in your game. Hope to hear from ya soon! Brett
Hey guys - just an update, we are full w/ 5 players but I have this thread bookmarked so we can source new players as/if needed.  Thanks everyone!
