Heya! I'm looking for a new game to join and am free during the time, if you're still looking for players. My name is Brett and I'm 30 years old. Have been playing Dnd for a few years now (both as a DM in a IRL homebrew game and as a player in consistent a bi-weekly roll20 game). I've never played Avernum or Exile before, but I read up on the backstory of the games and am intrigued to check it out. I have two character ideas, depending on what the group is looking for. One is a young Kalashtar wizard named Icarus (Icky to his friends). Up until a few years ago Icarus was studying at whatever magic college or institution that y'all have in that world, doing well for himself and with a bright future ahead of him. He and several of the other apprentices got a bit ahead of themselves and attempted to summon beings from the realm of dream and something went wrong. While Icky got the dream spirit he was looking for, one of the other students opened the way for a demon (or devil, if you prefer) to take possession of him. The demon killed all the rest of the apprentices, but Icky was able to use the power of the dream spirit to protect himself. The demon wearing his friend's meat suit escapes before the higher level mages arrive and Icky is kicked out of school, barely avoiding criminal prosecution. Shunned from higher level magical organizations or groups, he works as a low rent investigator of magical happenings and wizard for hire, working for those who can't afford better and generally taking whatever pay or jobs he can, waiting for the day the demon comes back to finish what it started. Idea #2: A young Changeling monk (probably kensei) woman recently escaped from a "Red Room" style training facility, trained in the art of infiltration and assassination. Determined to have a free life, where she only takes the lives of those she determines deserves it, she violently forced her way out and has been on the run from her former teachers and peers ever since. If ever of these sound good to you, give me a holler! Brett
