Ailekk, Urd, Ron, and Kira spent the next few weeks getting everything back in order, although it wasn’t long before Kira got a calling from her master to go serve on the front lines again. Saleh Silverthorn was taken to the temple of Bahamut in North Dravens Port where he was brought back from the dead, but was then required to stick around the city for a while to help out the poor and downtrodden. Ailekk, Urd, and Ron visited the place where Rurrick and Cassius died, arranging a memorial to be built in their honors. While Ailekk was arranging this, Urd helped clear as much of the undercity of Guilds Town as possible. Ron returned to Indra, taking a substantial bonus for his work in Dravens and then announcing his official retirement. Ailekk, Urd, Ron, Kira, Kaaska, Volandra, and Kalrithni all reconveined after the construction of the memorial to Cassius and Rurrick a month later, although the official public ceremony wouldn’t be held for several months to come. The group then traveled to northern Vinarr to take on the hobgoblin slave empire and rescue Cassius’ brother, Mathias. The endeavor took them longer than expected as their initial hope to get in and out quickly and quietly using the seeming spell was foiled by some missteps and miscalculations by the party. What was supposed to be a quick snatch and grab turned into a month long guerilla warfare and siege of parts of the hobgoblin empire, resulting in the deaths of many hobgoblins, goblins, and bugbears. Because the surgical strike was turned into a campaign of blood, many slaves were released and fled to Indra as a result. Returning to Indra to catch their breath, the group then traveled to the location of Duardriag, Sorcerer of Earth and Stone, King of Gargoyles, Harbinger of Death. In an enormous, ancient stone ziggurat, the party ventured to kill their foe. There they discovered that Duardriag was something beyond that of an ordinary malicious elemental being, but more primordial and powerful than the rest had anticipated. With power over stone and earth, being faced in it’s own den, Ailekk and Kaaska’s flight was hampered, and they became surrounded by enemies. They party made it out alive, but not before Urd, Volandra, and Kira all fell in battle. The party managed to get word to Feng’s family, who sent Madormi and Olzion to fly them back to Shonn as quickly as possible, where the three were brought back from death, Volandra’s spirit barely being persuaded to return. Ron returned Kalrithni and Volandra to Indra. Kira left to rejoin Oron in the north, fighting a covert war against Lightcrown and Corrive, while Urd left to rejoin the Bonehammer troops. Ron then took Kaaska and Ailekk to the elemental plane of air, to live in the monastery where Ailekk was raised for several weeks. Over the next few months, Urd took time to organize search parties to explore the wreckage of the Green Beauty’s Slumber and Dravens’ Grave, but didn’t find anything substantial in any location. Word around the realms was that after a while, Ailekk had returned, to what end no one was sure. Ron continued to alternate between a semi-retirement in Indra, whilst keeping tabs on his friends Ailekk and Urd on a regular basis. Kira was not heard from again, as even the name “Kira” seemed to vanish from the tongues of regular people as though she had never existed.
