LFP 5e D&D(homebrewed)(Pay To Miss Sessions)(Thursdays 7pm est, weekly)

Hello Roll 20 Goers I am an intermediate level DM with several built out homebrewed worlds. In future I am looking to run pay to play games but in the meantime I’m looking to try something a bit different. On Thursdays 7pm EST I will be running a pay to miss campaign that will last six months to a year (Depending on how long the players want to take it). It will generally be free to play, but should a player miss a session where most of the others are present then It will cost that player $5. I’m hoping this will help keep attendance high throughout the campaign and provide a more constant campaigning experience. If you are interested in joining this campaign. Please send me a pm and we will get in touch and go through everything. This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of < 5 USD at a frequency of once each missed session>. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions. Bump.
We are still looking for a few more
What is the current party comp..? Also do you still pay to miss if it wasn’t your fault as in your job calling you in etc?
Can you give some more info about the setting?
Hakeem, it is pay to miss for any reason including work.
I like this concept of pay to miss. One of the biggest problems with roll20 is inconsistent play attendance. I'm guilty of it myself. I had to skip this month because of sickness, medical appointments for my girlfriend and medical problems with my daughter. In the end I realize that I wasn't going to be able to attend, and I was doing a disservice to the group so I ended up closing the game. So I'm all for this idea so that when you go to have players commit they really decide is it worth it for them... can they make it. Good luck with this group.
Is the payment just to the DM or to the other players who showed up as well? And who gets paid if the DM misses a session?
I think this is a great idea. Those of us who DM spend a lot of 'real life' personal time to get everything ready and when a player leaves it can be devastating to the flow of the game, disruptive and drops the quality of the game for other players.. By having a fining system ensures that everyone has an invested interest in the game.
@ James. The payment is to the DM for skipping out on all the hard work, preparation and time he has invested. It will also serve as a donation for the DMs time. It will also serve the other players by enticing consistent attendance. The DM will respect that this is a payment game and will not miss sessions.
