My group of myself and my two friends need someone to round out our group. We talk over Discord and play on Roll 20. I am the DM and I'm here to give you some info about the group dynamic and what we plan to be running. We plan to run an adventure to get to level five, then delve into the Dungeon of the Mad Mage. If you're not familiar with the adventure it is an epic 23 level mega-dungeon. To tell you a little about the people you'll be playing with: My players love to get into their characters and roleplay and act as they would. Metagaming is strongly discouraged. They work as a team to tackle challenges and creatures. But if you're the type that doesn't mind a little tension in the party for conflict purposes then don't worry I do my best to make the roleplay as engaging and enjoyable as possible. My players build their characters with more fun in mind than mechanical benefit, but they don't ignore it completely. For example, if the cleric has found himself being thrust into open combat for several important battles the player in question might take a level in fighter to help his character better roleplay that change. If you're the type of player that would get mad because someone started the game as a Gnome Bard instead of a Halfling Bard and their spell save DC is 12 instead of 13, then I'm sorry but I don't think we're a right fit for you. (That's an actual example from a previous situation we had to deal with.) Now as for me...as a DM I like to hold the three pillars of D&D: Combat, Exploration, and Roleplay, with equal importance and will try to understand the individual play styles of my players to make sure you have a good time. Everyone gets a turn in the spotlight. I get descriptive with locations and I like to do voices for NPC's, and do my best to make the world seem alive. I also encourage different ways of tackling situations, and enjoy rewarding ingenuity. I want my players to try different things and take full advantage of the fact we're playing a fantasy game where anything can happen. But don't worry. I won't punish you if you didn't pull the chandelier down on the orc's head and just decided to smash his head in instead. Head smashing is fine in our book too! All in all we're a pretty mellow bunch and just like to have fun with the game. We're all in our 20's, so someone late teens to maybe mid 30's would be a nice fit for us. If you're interested, please shoot me a message and we can talk on Discord.
