Character Build

First session will be for character building... come ready with some general ideas of your character concept
So far the character concept I've looked at most is a Lashunta Technomancer.
That sounds interesting. We haven't had anyone play that combination before. I will assign you a character sheet for you fill in and complete. Remember, we are doing first level-- so that means all stats, equipment, and abilities have to be first level. Everyone gets 1k starting credits to flush out your belongings.
I think I'll play a soldier. What races are you allowing? Are there any homebrew rules we should be aware of?
Any race is acceptable so long as it is vaguely medium-sized anthropomorphic, i.e. no stupid blue walruses, wheeled mushrooms, jellyfish, or races that will draw the fire of each and every NPC because they look like they need to be exterminated. I don't think we have any insertions of new homebrew rules but we did eliminate/trim down some Paizo ridiculousness that involves the dozens of combat conditions, attacks of opportunity, melee reach, weapon/armor penalties, and all ship combat. Basically, if it makes the game less fun and more crunchy, it has been eliminated. Let me emphasize again that there isn't going to be any ship combat. It's tediously boring. So there's no need to gear your character toward that end. There will, however, be personalized vehicle combat at some point! (If you noticed, Paizo has a horrendous list of "vehicles" that all do ramming/collision damage only... that will soon be changed to represent the likes of StarCraft units... because, well, StarCraft has bad ass vehicles. I think you would much rather be piloting a Viking on your own and blowing shit up than being a science officer during a starship battle wasting time assessing atmospheric conditions.) Also, there is a good possibility of blue-booking in between sessions in Discord. One last point-- this is a campaign. Elements of one-shot modules will be used but everything is one big story line. The goal is to take a Level-1 character and bring them through the ranks to Level-20.
you using published AP's?
KRIS said: First session will be for character building... come ready with some general ideas of your character concept If we can get everyone's character squared away before game time then we can actually start the campaign. All registered players currently have a character sheet assigned to them. Feel free to access it and fill in the details as needed. The character name is just a template-- change it to whatever you want. I have a multitude of tokens to choose from. All character portraits need to be actual tokens, i.e. rounded images, not square, and be derived from Paizo art (or similar caliber and quality) for consistency. I have hundreds of tokens and I can generate more on the fly. Just let me know what you need and I can give you some selections or I can make a token for you from the art that you select.

The content will be more from Starfinder Society, so as to not conflict with the two live games that I run that are Adventure Paths. There will also be customization and other elements integrated along the way. PDFs of custom material shall be made available soon (I hope). I have a PDF of character races that are allowed. If you would like it, just email me directly at: mantidae@yahoo.com
personally think of being a ysoki mechanic
I think I'll go with a kasatha solarion after looking over all my options.
I am thinking an SRO soldier, but I can change classes if needed since there is another soldier already.
Although I think that a well balanced and differentiated party is resourceful, I don't foresee any problems with an entire party of soldiers/tanks. We've done it before in other games. So be what you want! (just no lame ass blue walruses and wheeled mushrooms....)
I assume that we're all set and ready to go for next week? Does everyone have their characters readied?
Mine's finished up.
I just need to type mine up, it will be done by tomorrow
Just picking out the last bit of equipment, also need a controllable token for my drone
Moonlight, send me a pic that you want to use for your Drone and I'll make a token out of it. Try to use Paizo art. Otherwise get something similar-- nothing too cartoonish. Everyone else should have access to the tokens on the landing page. Select which one you would like for your character and I'll match it up to your sheet.
