Any race is acceptable so long as it is vaguely medium-sized anthropomorphic, i.e. no stupid blue walruses, wheeled mushrooms, jellyfish, or races that will draw the fire of each and every NPC because they look like they need to be exterminated. I don't think we have any insertions of new homebrew rules but we did eliminate/trim down some Paizo ridiculousness that involves the dozens of combat conditions, attacks of opportunity, melee reach, weapon/armor penalties, and all ship combat. Basically, if it makes the game less fun and more crunchy, it has been eliminated. Let me emphasize again that there isn't going to be any ship combat. It's tediously boring. So there's no need to gear your character toward that end. There will, however, be personalized vehicle combat at some point! (If you noticed, Paizo has a horrendous list of "vehicles" that all do ramming/collision damage only... that will soon be changed to represent the likes of StarCraft units... because, well, StarCraft has bad ass vehicles. I think you would much rather be piloting a Viking on your own and blowing shit up than being a science officer during a starship battle wasting time assessing atmospheric conditions.) Also, there is a good possibility of blue-booking in between sessions in Discord. One last point-- this is a campaign. Elements of one-shot modules will be used but everything is one big story line. The goal is to take a Level-1 character and bring them through the ranks to Level-20.
