LFP Wednesday Evening D&D 5e Game (CST 7:30 p.m.-11:00 p.m.)

I have an ongoing campaign loosely based on the Forgotten Realms. I'm looking for a player or two to join up. My DMing style is a bit more player choice vs. narrative driven. There are larger things happening in the world, but the players don't necessarily have to engage with them and can adapt the world in other ways. I want to give everyone the freedom to be their characters and have fun. That being said I do ask that players try not to ruin other players fun by doing things like robbing them for no reason or trying to kill other PCs. I do enjoy to have a lot of roleplaying in my games, but will try to adapt campaigns to player interest. The game I am running is based mostly around the Sword Coast and the North. One of the major plot lines involves the collapse of the Lord's Alliance due to years of relative peace without a serious outside threat and political infighting. Neverwinter, The Jewel of the North, recently left the Lord's Alliance to focus their resources on a war with Luskan, a powerful pirate haven, and Waterdeep, a powerful trading city, is reconsidering their involvement feeling that they lose too much and gain to little from their support of the Lord's Alliance. The party is currently trying to avoid some of the larger conflict and heading east towards the Elven style city of Silverymoon. They are currently seeking their fortune from smaller towns along the way who are finding themselves hard pressed to deal with local monster and bandit populations without the support of the Lord's Alliance. If this sounds like the kind of game you'd like to play in, feel free to respond to this thread or send me a message. Tell me a bit about yourself and the character you'd want to play. Right now we're at level 4, and I allow most published material including Unearthed Arcana. We communicate over Discord through voice chat, so you have to have Discord and a functioning mic preferably without a ton of background noise. We could really use a more tanky type character like a barbarian or a fighter, but don't let that stop you from being the character you want to play. Also experience isn't necessary, I'd rather have someone who's fun to hang out with than an expert on D&D.
Hi, I would definitely be interested in joining your campaign as I have been looking for a campaign that runs during the week for me. A bit about myself, I'm 33, live in NY and I've been playing for about 3 years with D&D 4e and 5e and I'm much more into the role playing aspects as opposed to the nonstop combat. I'm much more willing to having a group that tries to find creative ways out of predicaments that don't involve starting fights or nonstop intimidation checks. That being said.... my last character was indeed a barbarian and I'd like to continue playing as one, although I'd be more than willing to be flexible with what class the party needs. I'll give you a brief character backstory below. Rallick Half-elf Barbarian A half elf barbarian is certainty an odd sight, more especially for the clan Rallick was born into where sullying the blood of the human warrior was frowned upon. Born to a human father and an elvish mother, his odd fit within the clan led him to be the target of constant ridicule within the clan earning him the nickname of Outlander. When he came of age Rallick left his clan behind, his mother had already passed on and his father already exiled by the elders, Rallick put his skills to use becoming a bounty hunting for anyone who would hire him. These days he's mainly tasked to hunt down citizens who may have tried skipping town a large bar tab, gambling debt or the occasional.... marital disputes turned ugly. The pay is good but Rallick has bigger dreams of one day going on a grand adventure and hunting down a truly worthy target.
I would love to give a forgotten realms based game a good shot as i have not given it a good play through yet. I have been in mostly homebrew games or textbook modules. I am indeed experienced with about 4 and a half years of 5e so if thats not what your looking for, i understand but i still want to see if you will have me i would write a massive monologue but you should check my post out https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/7015363/lfg-5e-looking-to-join-a-game-to-escape-the-dms-curse
