Listing Link The Campaign I'm looking to run a campaign in Thennla, primarily in the Taskan Empire but probably some in Korantia. I will be using scenarios published by TDM for the core of the campaign, though of course we will end up developing other points of interest for the characters through play and my own fiendish plans. For those not familiar with Thennla here is a short, free introduction to the setting . It is a pseudo-Greek, bronze/iron age ancient fantasy world. It has a lot of magic, which is mostly tied to cults and other societies. It tends toward the mythical and heroic in tone, though I will be inserting plenty of dark fantasy/sword & sorcery elements into it. Characters The player characters will start as affiliates of the Ruddy River Association, in Further Tarsenia. I'll be using the Taskan Empire and Shores of Korantia sourcebooks for cultures and careers, though the Thennla introduction (above) contains enough information to create characters for those who do not want to get into two separate sourcebooks, as the material there is taken from them. Players are generally free to construct whatever character they like using these options. As the setting is high magic and there 'adventure' scenarios I am planning on using there are the usual considerations that having some people who can use magic or swords is a good idea. As GM This is my first game in a while, and my first ever Mythras game. I have been reading the game since RQ6 came out, and have played a bit of RQ6. I just now got Mythras in print, which is one thing I was waiting on. Related experience is that I have played Stormbringer!, Call of Cthulhu, and I collect the BRP/d100/RQ derivative games - I am generally familiar with these kinds of system. I have a fair amount of experience
running campaigns, especially OSR-type stuff but also games using Spycraft, GURPS, Storyteller, Marvel Superheroes and Mythic. Players I am looking for at least two but up to five players. As I am quite new to actually running Mythras the players will want to have a basic understanding of Mythras itself (check the Mythras Imperative for an abbreviated, free version of the rules I will be using). If you have actual experience playing Mythras or RuneQuest 6 that would be awesome, but it's not an absolute requirement. Likewise, experience with related games such as Call of Cthulhu or Renaissance Deluxe, etc. will probably help you grok Mythras, though it does differ from other BRP systems in a number of ways. Time/Date I work during the afternoon and evening most days. Day and Time: I can play about any time from noon to late night on Sundays (MST, GMT-7).. I could also potentially run games very late night/early morning on other days, if that worked for the players. Frequency: I could run the game weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, depending on what works for the players. Length: Because it often takes a while to get going I find that sessions of around four hours work best, which means it's good if the players (and GM) aren't tired in the first place. Occasionally sessions might be shorter if we come to a natural stopping point, or longer if the players want to keep going. Starting: Exactly when we will start depends on how long it takes me to find enough players and set the actual date. We'll need to figure out scheduling, create characters, fill them into Roll20, and then we should review the rules relevant to the PCs (and, in my case, the scenario I will be running). Once that is done I will probably have all the handouts, macros and tokens I judge necessary ready within a couple of weeks, and so we'll schedule it on that. I'll be creating a Discord channel which we'll use for audio while playing, and we can also share maps/chat, etc there outside of sessions.
