I'm not sure if it's me, roll20 or the map I'm using.

Alright i have a video link that displays the exact issue I'm having. Excuse my language I do swear a lot. That being said I'm really not sure why this map won't align. It's ripped from a pdf and I've tried every single trick I saw online including fiddling with the sizes, but it appears that the pdf just doesn't have a consistent grid. That being said I have had problems with zooming in on roll20 and that screwing up grid alignment on another flip-mat from a pdf. I was able to fix that just fine by zooming back out. Is this a problem I can resolve or am I just stuck? Have you considered using Alt when you Stretch the picture on the map layer?
Did that.

EvilMeanBadGuy does have the right idea, sometimes when a map is off in just one direction you can stretch the map a little and get it close if not perfect. But to be honest sometimes maps just don't line up perfectly. What I've done in those cases is to bring it in to gimp, turn on the grid, make the grid 70px by 70px, and see if the grid is really a perfect grid, and if it isn't, manipulate it as best as could. I've only had to do that twice and had mixed success, but it is another thing you can try.

There are many maps that the grids are not truly square and there is nothing to be done with them except for a few work around. I'm going on the assumption you went through the Map alignment on Roll20 by your statement. Workarounds: Just don't use the Roll20 Grid. This is the simplest to use as you only worry about the map's prebuilt grid. Get it as close as you can and turn the grid invisible(transparent). Another simple method where close is good enough. Cut the grid size in half or more while adjusting your scale then turning the grid invisible (transparent). This method control over the grids but at the cost of ease of use (depending on your point of view). Usually most who use this method put the grid at or near .5 while adjusting the scale so the measurements stay close to the same overall. There are some other workarounds, I think, but these were the ones I have heard and seen in use commonly.
Well the alt tool didn't work, but I put it in photoshop and set a grid and yeah it does appear to not have a perfect grid. Which is frustrating. I'm just going to squish it down manually to make it fit. Thank you everyone for responding.
