Hello, Roll20, My name is Pike or, as the forum shows, the Tactician,
and I was hoping to ask if anyone would be interested in running a game
set in the My Hero Academia universe for myself and a friend of mine.
Specifically, the system we wished to utilize is the Bleach D20
Classless homebrew system, which has a set of supplements called
Complete Cape and Cowls and Essential Cape and Cowls. These two
supplements alter the system's gameplay in order to better emulate the
super heroics of Western comic books, which the series is based upon if
at a lower general power than its influences. The system in general is
based on equal parts 3.5 and D20 Modern, though depending what variant
rules you use for it, its gameplay is something akin to Pathfinder
without classes in my experience. Both my friend and I
are experienced roleplayers, and while my friend has not had any
experience with this particular system, I have played it before and
believe that, with the right mindset and expectations going in, it can
prove an enjoyable experience. I am willing to help any GM willing to
run a story set in the MHA world utilizing this system, whether that be
as students at a hero academy, as Vigilantes executing street justice,
actual pro-heroes, or something more original, in terms of understanding
the mechanics/providing the best interpretation of them based on what
I've seen in other games. For the most part, the game ought to be
relatively relaxed in terms of rules and such; no need to bicker over
them during session, with rule zero in effect of just going with the
GM's word if they seem certain of it during session and discussing it after each
session. Both of us enjoy a good bit of story going on during the course
of the game, which will probably pull attention away from those rules
besides quick rolls in case of having to decide how impactful an
argument we make as characters is on NPCs if the GM is uncertain how
well they understand our viewpoint, so it won't constantly have to be an
issue of finagling the rules during every session. Essentially, just be
comfortable running a decent story with combat at the appropriate
points, rather than placing the plotline as just a vehicle for said
combat. Additionally, any GM interested in running this
game should be expecting for more players to potentially join, despite
the fact that we are only two players at the moment. This is mostly
because games are, up to a point, more fun with additional players to
bounce banter off of during the course of play and who can provide more
varied roles/powers for the group as a whole. Essentially, an additional
person means another character that can be potentially spotlighted for a
session or two for a plotline tied into their backstory and who can
break the mold in terms of interesting tactics and personal character
moments. At the moment, while we are searching for a GM as just two
players, we do have two additional friends that we've considered
inviting as long as their schedules are manageable and they and a GM get
along well enough, and we would be willing to accept two more players
that we have not met before for a maximum of 6 players. 6 tends to be
the maximum number of players that can be managed most effectively by a
GM without losing cohesion and having constant struggles over who's
metaphorically up front, so if our two additional friends decide not to
play and we instead recruit more unfamiliar players, we'd like to still
keep the maximum number at 6 while having a minimum of 3 or 4. If
you are interested in running this game, please PM me with your Discord
information so that I may add you to a server where you can speak to my
friend and me. Do not post that information here. You may ask
additional questions pertaining to the game in this thread before PMing
me, but please, don't put your contact information here for the sake of
your privacy aka so people don't bug you with bullshit you don't wish to
put up with. Best regards, Pike
