Name: Levi
Age: 31
Experience with DnD 5e:
I've been playing 5e off and on since around launch, almost exclusively as a DM. I've ran the starter set, a few one shots, and a long term home brew campaign. 5e is my only experience with Dungeons and Dragons and tabletop gaming in general.
DM Style (heavy roleplay, combat, puzzles etc.):
The style I'm looking for my next game at its core is roleplay heavy with a more serious tone, but leaves room for lighthearted and goofy moments as well. I think a mix of different elements makes a great campaign and aim to tailor my style to fit the table.
Module or Campaign Brief (only a few sentences required, but feel free to elaborate as much as you'd like):
I want to run a homebrew campaign that is based on ideas and buy in from everybody to create a world that the players and their characters are attached to and have high stakes in.
A couple ideas for campaigns I've had rolling around in my head:
1. A powerful and highly addictive narcotic referred to as "Mane" has taken root in the city that allows users to see into the ethereal plane at high dosages. A clandestine cult lead by a shadowy figure has been importing Mane into the city for unclear reasons that seem to go beyond monetary gain. What is this cults motivation? Who is their leader? And what is the purpose of this mysterious drug?
2. The world has been locked in a centuries long struggle of war with the demon hordes spilling forth from the Abyss. As lines of communication decay and sever, civilizations fall one by one to the invasion. Powerful magic users have fled the material fearing it lost, and even the god's seem to offer no respite.
In humanities' final hours Asmodeus, Lord of Nessus appears to the last bastion holding out against demonic annihilation and has offered a simple deal: salvation from the demonic onslaught in return for joint administration of the last remaining mortal metropolis.
I am also very interested in running Curse of Strahd, and to a lesser degree Tomb of Annihilation and Out of the Abyss.
Expectations for Your PCs:
Number one is showing up reliably and on time. With that said I understand life happens and has to take priority, but communication is key.
No edgelords.
