New player looking to learn

Hi everybody, I have never played D&D before but have been watching/listening to podcasts and would love to get in on it because it looks like a lot of fun. Been doing some reading when I can about Pathfinder and 3.5 rules if that helps. I am Australian and any Aussie friendly times would be really good if possible but I can be flexible
>_> <_< [begins stalking the thread like the newbie Pathfinder player she is]
Well what times are you free? The games I run start at 7pm EST or 11AM-1pm depending on where you are.

Well I have two homebrew campaigns that don't quite follow all the rules, but should give you a great introduction to role playing. If you wanna join, I'd be happy to include you. There's a sci-fi fantasy game Friday and a Modern Superhero game Saturday. It's like an abused form of 3.5 both of them. For the sci-fi one there's a character sheet, but the superhero one is like paranoia where you can't view your stats.
Sounds interesting, exactly how different are the two to traditional D&D games? Just making sure I won't be confused from any home rules or anything
The superhero dnd has a stand by on using the d20 for everything. Your stats aren't seen so you even roll for your defenses -3-. Mods are added in without you seeing so it adds to the flavor of you being a new hero not knowing whats going on. The scifi game uses two different battle systems. DnD for ground battles and a Mechwarrior-esque for Space battles
I might try the superhero one, sounds a bit more basic and probably an easier learning curve
Alright I'll send you the PM for it
Might I suggest the Pathfinder Adventurers Guild? it's smimmilar to 3.5, and we have games that run at all times of the day.

if you like, I'm also running a game for beginners, its homebrew setting 3.5 at 12 pm EST on sundays, not sure how that would fit with your schedule. here's the LFG link if it works for you, make sure you include a short character description in your application http://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/2935/temeria-age-of-apothesis
