Ravaged Realms - Fire in the Dark A world that was once like our own, torn and ruled by man and nature, that is until the Cataclysm surged within the world. Now, the world is faced with otherworldly and horrifying demons alike, cursed folks who have lost every shred of their humanity, cultists who willingly give their flesh and blood to dark patrons, and fools who try to push against the inevitable. At least, hope seems so far away, but that doesn't stop few from rebelling this fate. Around a hundred years after the horrible event, you, among others, seek to find shelter within the ravaged lands, for sanctuary is far too scarce to come by. Will you rise among the ruins and survive, join the numerous dead, or even worse, join the damned? The campaign and setting is inspired by games such as Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Diablo, Witcher, and other such dark fantasy games. You will be playing a character tied to this newfound camp in some way; be it they are one of the founders, a traveler looking for a place to rest, or someone looking for comrades against the worlds horrors. The characters can be of any being or creed (from humans to exiled demons, vagrants to reformed bandits), so as long as they're willing to make peace with other sane folk. Expect to explore, take on meaningful tasks, fight for your life, make difficult decisions, all while finding a way to build your own sanctuary. What To Expect: To get immersed into an oppressive world; players will be selected on their ability to roleplay seriously, rather than their ability to make gameplay choices. Gameplay is there only to compliment roleplay, and help guide players into creatively portraying their characters. There will be a lot of reading ahead, both before game and after game. We don't expect you to remember everything, but every player should read the lore and rules enough to get a good gist. The GM will help you find your way around the texts if you're lost. Your character will either be the original founder of a sanctuary or help build it up. This doesn't mean the game will be centered around building; there will be combat, exploration, characters to meet, stories to uncover, the world to learn about, and so on. Campaign Information: Text-only; No voice will be used, and will be by improv rather than play-by-post. In English. Mature; The game will have violence, gore, death, and other dark concepts. However, sexual content will **not** be explicitly role-played, it'll be treated as a behind-the-curtains fade to black or mere background mention. It wont be Mature for the explicit sake of being mature, but rather to help paint the grim world. Communication is important; Players will be expected to show some level of interest and communication. Any players who shows little, especially none, will be dropped out at my discretion. Heavy-roleplay; Play in the shoes and through the eyes of your character, with their own motives, feelings, and unique actions. Metagaming and game-speak will not be tolerated. Player Collaboration; The players are allowed to add their own piece of lore, interpretations, and story as long as it doesn't infringe on another player in the game or grossly deviate from the setting. System; Savage Worlds Deluxe with homebrew; New players to the system are welcome, as long as they have a willingness for immersive roleplaying; the system rewards you for making a character with flaws and talents alike. Schedule; I am EST based, but accommodating to others schedules. The schedule will likely be later in the week (Thursday or Friday), from around noon to night.
