[LFG] Brand Spanking New!

So I never played D&D!  I've always wanted to play and well I decided, why not start now? After a weekend at PAX East, seeing people playing at amazing 3D set ups, it just made me even more eager to try. I don't know anything but of course will read/watch stuff. Just looking for a noob friendly group willing to talk or even play together. If you have any suggestions for videos or really anything to look at, I'll take them. As far as scheduling goes, I'm pretty flexible right now but Saturdays can be difficult.

I might have a game that would be up your alley. It is starting at 1st level still, (you missed first session) but it is early enough in the game for you to have not missed too much. I am running Mazes &amp; Minotaurs , a free RPG based on the idea of role-playing emerging from ancient world miniatures war-gaming instead of medieval miniatures war-gaming. The result is an old-school D&amp;Dish rules set with a classical base to the chaotic blend of various flavors. It's simpler than modern D&amp;D, so not a bad intro to the hobby (it is also free, which makes it a cheap intro). The current adventuring is forest exploration. A variety of pre-generated characters will be available, with just enough background to provide a motive for being there. If you keep playing (and the character survives), you can develop additional background and character as we go along.
