Character Sheets

I know this would be a HUGE undertaking for the site...But I would LOVE to see the ability for players to make character sheets on the site and have them sent directly to the DM or just for them or myself. I think if you set up a frame-work for it and gave it to the community they would make the character-sheet code and layout for you. I just see a lot of people wanting you to use Myth-Weaver or some other site...It means making an account on another site, then sending links between players and DM so they can see it...Seems like an un-necessary hassle and if you added it on the site I could see more players doing a supporter subscription if you made it for subscribers only. I know there are a LOT of games out there so I wouldn't expect that the D20.net team would make it for all the games, thus giving the frame-work out and letting the community make them. But it goes to a thread I saw earlier and noted in one of my other threads is that there isn't a real good option to request a game added to the list of games, or you can't type the name of a game that isn't on the list into the game feild option.
This suggestion has been made over and over at different times. But: Did you see the news? It's finally becoming reality! :)

In addition to Julian's comment, this right here is exactly what's going on in the Mentors forum right now. There's a flurry of activity on the development server!

I was just coming to post on this very subject, no I had NOT heard the news! :) I last looked about a year ago but that thread is now archived so I came looking to see if there's any updated threads, and yay! I really would love the ability to import and export sheet templates - either that I had created myself or that the community had generated. This would be so useful when running different campaigns in the same game system - we do have other ways to manage characters and their records, and we use them, but it would be amazing to have this natively to Roll20. While you're at it then mentors (whom we appreciate very much) - being able to associate macros with particular templates and import/export those along with the character sheet templates would be a mega-win. Is that on the books at all? E.g. I create my sheet template + macros (attack rolls, saves, initiative and what have you) and export it. I then create my characters in the journal, import the template, and start filling them in. The players all get the same basic macros, and if we come up with new regular ones, we can get them into the template for next time without building it all from scratch and copying text and so on. Fantabulous. EDIT: I just read the preview. That's more or less... exactly what I want. Thank you Roll20 and the mentor team, this will be awesome. Feel free to take the time to get it so you're happy with it, now I know it's coming - no artificial deadlines making you rush!
