Issues with Private messaging

Hello, I'm having some issues with not being able to private message people. I can put txt in the title but get no Text box to write the message. Is there a specific reason this happens? If so what is it please?  

I have noticed this upon occasion, more often on my Chromebook than on my desktop. The text box for message body fails to render correctly. It's still there, you can tab into it and start typing, but the first two lines are always invisible. Usually, I just cancel the message, reload the page and try again, and it renders properly the second time. It very rarely takes a third try.
