If players are comfortable with a guy playing a female: Tara Solathei has more reason to hate the do-gooding rulers of the kingdom than most. Before Darius swept in with his armies, it was the Solathei family which had grown vast and influential in the service of Asmodeus' great temple. Her family escaped the purges but only through the cowardice of stealth, living in practical poverty as they watched the valiant ones grow fatter and weaker. Yet her mother Raja had always told her that the day would come when Asmodeus would reclaim his land from the filth which had infested it, and his loyal servant need only wait for the right opportunity. This great moment did not come before the witch hunters did, however, and Tara and her mother both were caught with a basement full of bones belonging to the victims of unholy rites and rituals. Raja was killed as she attempted to summon a demonic ally, a crossbow bolt expertly piercing her left eye and killing her instantly. Tara, younger and still a novice in the dark arts, was more easily subdued. Despite her youth, the excesses of her crimes and unrepentant devotion to the Archdemon demanded justice. (Sorcerer of the Imperious or Abyssal bloodline, or a Witch depending. very socially manipulative and ambitious) If the players are uncomfortable with a guy playing a female: Eckhar was born a cold, quiet type. Never socialized much with the other boys, ran away from a broken home at an early age. He was of considerable stature, though, and a quiet tongue only made him more desirable for military service. He tended to keep to himself, though displaying proficiency with all manners of martial weaponry. It only made it all the more surprising when he was caught killing other members of his unit in their sleep. Every few weeks, some member of the patrol never came back, or lay smothered in their beds...You see, Eckhar was born a killer, and while he wore the uniform, the army had failed to provide him with what he needed most: victims. Is he evil, or just sick? Does it matter? Broken men like him can't live in a world of people with empathy. (fighter or ranger, melee type. serial killer)
