"Tokens only" purchase in compendiums

Some players and GM's already have one or two copies of a book you offer. Like Volo's or Mordenkainen's and we don't really find reading the lore in it on Roll20 very acceptable, but we would love to use your official tokens. An option to buy only the tokens and NPC page of a monster (his stats and moves not including his lore) would be an amazing way to make game masters like me not even hesitate about buying a book we already own again. Instead of making our own 260 tokens from the book rules we can use your tokens but not buy into the full book and an adjusted price.

Thanks for the suggestion :) To give my view of such an initiative - in both Volo's and Mordenkainen's, the large bulk and value of the content is exactly that (token, stats, and implementation). The lore sections themselves are great and fun, but constitute very little in terms of VTT integration. Removing those sections would be removing such a minor part of the implementation, that the retail value would be effected minimally (even if we could get licensing approval to release a 'stripped down' version of the book), and would likely generate more customer confusion on why there are 2 copies of one product. To the core of your point, it sounds like affordability may be your main criticism of the product. We're always looking for ways to bring more value to products (such as the addition of Charactermancer support in previously released product), as well as seeing where we can contractually - as well as sustainably for ourselves - create a price point that is accessible. I definitely hear you there, and appreciate you sharing your thoughts!
