Will updating an adventure mess with my changes to it?

Hi, I'm currently running the Tomb of Annihilation adventure and I have made many changes to the game (such as changing descriptions, updating token art, making new maps etc.). Now the client informs me there is an update available, and I'm worried that downloading it will mess with the many changes I have made. Is that the case? If so I'll just ignore the update.

If you changed something that was changed in the update, it might overwrite your changes. I'd suggest creating a clone of your game, applying the update to the clone, then verifying if the results are acceptable before applying it to your real game.

I think it might also work to add an asterisk to the name of anything you customize. It depends on if the upgrade script works off of name or object id. Changing the name works to keep customized spells from being overwritten by the Charactermancer on level up.
