WebRTC has voice support, although I don't think it works on iPad; Wikipedia's entry for WebRTC says it's supported by Firefox (v22), Chrome (v23), Opera (v18), Android Firefox (v24), Android Chrome (v28), Android Opera (v12), and Chrome OS.

You can use skype for comms on iPad. But I also would say running sessions on it would not be best.
