5e Princes of the Apocalypse, Weekdays 10 am CST (3 pm GMT)

Looking for 5 Players to play Princes of the Apocalypse while my kids are at school.  Very little experience required, but should make every effort to attend games regularly.  Exact date and times to be discussed by the group, so it works for everyone.  Voice or text is fine.
Hi, I'm from Germany, so this would work out well for me as an afternoon/evening activity. How long would your sessions most likely be ? Best regards, Christian
Hello. I usually like to run it about 3 or 4 hours. it's a good time for me while my kids are at school.  are you pretty familiar with 5th edition, or Faerun?
3-4 hours would be pretty ideal for me. I'm familiar with 5th edition and - at least somewhat - the Swordcoast part of Faerun (but I'm still a relative newcomer to D&D). Do you have any specific weekdays in mind ? I'm usually available on any day except Thursday, but Monday or Friday would be the most ideal for me (on those days, I'm almost 100% guaranteed to be available by default).
Monday mornings are best for me, actually.
Sounds good, count me in !
awesome. we will start at 1st level, with the introductory adventures from the campaign source books.  Probably shoot for a couple of warrior types, a divine caster and an arcane caster, and a roguish sort.  as a DM, i especially enjoy players who make really cool, unique characters, but make sure not to cripple yourself for an  interesting concept. These modules are pretty challenging.
Do you mean "Lost Mines of Phandelver" ? I'm still relatively new and haven't played that one yet, so it would be a good fit. I would probabably go for a more "traditional" archetype first (Dwarfen or Half-Orc Fighter, Gnome Wizard, Tiefling Warlock etc.) - I feel you can still make the character interesting by giving him/her a good backstory and roleplaying him/her well.
no, not Lost Mines. It's Princes of the Apocalypse, the 2015 Adventure League story line. It's the Forgotten Realms version of Temple of Elemental Evil.  And you can really do about anything you want with a character, I'm no picky at all. It's often good to have a reliable, proven character type on hand.
Ah, so the "introductory adventures" are something else, then. Great, I'll just wait and see what everybody wants to play and then the party can decide on the characters together.

I'd like to join in. Experienced in general pen&paper role playing, less so using d&d rules (but I know them) and even less experienced with the settings lore, although I read some of it. I'm indifferent about classes, I like to play mostly anything but the "face" roles, meaning bard and rogue, but even those I can make work, they just won't look like what people are used to. When pressed on the issue of my character, I resort to the default "grumpy dwarf" archetype and roll a cleric of some sort. Time-wise, I'd prefer Monday or Friday. In addition, voice-chat would be greatly preferred as a medium.
Awesome, y'all.  @Christian, yes, the lead up adventures are in chapter six of the module, "Alarums and Excursions," a riff on an old Dungeon Magazine editorial. I like to start with them so that players unfamiliar with the setting or rules can be to the Faction plot hooks organically, in game.  @Tsaimath, quirky, original characters are just fine, we can discuss any details or oddities when you post the Character Sheets on the Google Drive.  I can easily set it up for voice and text. Looks like Mondays are going to be preferred so far.  I'm finalizing the first half dozen adventure maps on the Game Page now, I have blank fillable character sheets and any source books you want in pdf format. Also lots of character portraits, tokens and what not, which we can hammer out during a Session 0 whenever we actually begin.
Tsaimath. said: When pressed on the issue of my character, I resort to the default "grumpy dwarf" archetype and roll a cleric of some sort. Time-wise, I'd prefer Monday or Friday. Monday and/or Friday also fit like a glove.
Maybe it would be a good idea to highlight the time in Central European Summer Time a little more, most people play evenings, so 17:00 GMT+2 might draw more attention than 10:00am CST.
Good idea. Haven't been using online gaming for very long. i will do that
Greetings, I go by moon and I'm interested in playing in this. I have a restrant job which mainly gives me my morning/early afternoon free and this seems like a good fit
I'd be very interested in joining as well. I have been playing since 2nd edition and I am very familiar 5e as well as tabletop, roll20 and Fantasy Grounds. I would be interested in playing a rogue but can be flexible. I have a tabaxi character that would go into inquisitive archetype possibly and archaelogist background. Monday mornings and afternoons work great for me. I tend to enjoy roleplaying a lot, developing my characters background through game play and doing a character voice. Groups that are cooperative, friendly and focused on character interactions as much as combat are important to me.
If still looking i would be interested, I made a post too
hello, are you still in need of players..... i work 3rd shift  so this is a great time. i have some experience and willing to fill in as needed.
