Greetings Roll20. I'm a lightly experienced 5th Edition D&D player looking to play in a campaign with some cool D&D folks that I feel would be a great long term fit for me, as part of a longer term thing with a neat group. I'm aiming for a group that I'll be able to make some nice friends with and have good times together, and build some cool characters both with combat and story/roleplaying. I'm looking to play through Roll20 for the campaign stuff and communicating/voice chatting with Discord.  Ideally it would be the start of a new campaign.  A Level 1 start may be preferable since those are pretty easy to work with as far as low level starts, though a Level 3 start may be okay too.  Joining a group in the middle of a campaign could also be considered, as long as it hasn't gone much into the campaign yet. --- **Me as a player** My name is Ryan and I'm a 30 year old guy who's semi-experienced in playing 5th Edition D&D, having played the Lost Mines of Phandelver campaign up to level 3 before deciding to leave that group for compatibility reasons. I've done single sessions with several other groups off and on but haven't found anything that sticks unfortunately, so I've still been looking for a long term group to play with and make some cool friends as well as have fun with D&D and roleplaying in general. I enjoy a good mix of roleplaying and combat, and having interesting character ideas that would be able to work well in some way with a group and not just a loner or self serving character concept. I have experience with some other forms of tabletop back in the day when I was much younger, with 2nd Edition D&D and the Star Wars tabletop game. I never was a part of any long running games then, but enjoyed playing those all the same when I had the chance. I've played various different RPG video games as well, including some that have used D&D or D&D inspired mechanics. **My character** The character I have in mind is Alyrra, nicknamed 'Night Eyes' by her friends and peers since she's one of the few of halfling blood who has darkvision and being able to track her way in the dark. She's a Half-Elf, Half-Halfling character which is where the darkvision comes from due to her elven heritage on her father's side. Her alignment is Chaotic Good. There's a bit of backstory as to her parents coming to have a child together, for any people wondering. Her background is a background I came up with on my own, Private Investigator. She's a Dexterity focused sort of Fighter who grew up being inquisitive and good with information and keeping herself out of trouble if getting involved with good natured shenanigans.  Alyrra is quite handy in the ways of Stealth and investigative skills, so she's not just your average blade swinger with spells. Long term I plan on taking her down the Eldritch Knight route for Fighter, and having a bit of multiclassing involved as she develops as a character. I can share what she gains mechanically from being a Half-Elf/Half-Halfling and what she gains from her Private Investigator background in PMs. --- **Scheduling** As far as scheduling, I'm in the US Central timezone and am looking to play weekly, hopefully twice a week if it works for the group. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are the days that work for me, and late afternoons and evenings are usually the best starting times for a session. I can do earlier afternoons too if that works best with everyone's schedule or gearing up for a lengthier session.  My schedule is usually flexible, and I'll try letting you know if something doesn't work for me a particular day or week. **General Content & Group Preferences** * I'm most open to a general fantasy setting sort of campaign/adventure, likely set in the Forgotten Realms somewhere or having some relation to it.  Homebrew campaigns which are high fantasy like general D&D I could consider too if yours fits into that sort of mold. * I'm looking to play in a group that features **only Good aligned player characters in the party** .  Also no characters in the group who worship evil deities or anything like that. * I'm not looking to play in a pay to play group. * I'm not looking to play in a party with exotic character races for player characters, like ones which would be rare for adventurer types.  Such as warforged, kobolds, minotaurs, etc.  Player's Handbook races are all totally fine, and some other races/subraces from the official books that seem to fit for an adventurer. * I'm not looking to play in a party with any Warlocks or Wild Magic Sorcerers.  I might be willing to make an exception for a Good Aligned Warlock with a Good Aligned patron, but I know those are rare. * Preferably, there'd be at least one other melee focused character in the party. * For content I'm fine with R rated content and that sort of thing, but I do hope for the players and the DM to exercise good sense and making sure all the players are comfortable with something in regards to more adult oriented content or topics. * I'm open for various bits of homebrew as long as the DM and the group are okay with it. * While I understand not all DMs are for it, I think it would be good flavor to allow characters in the party to gain a free feat around level 4 or 5, as a way for them to gain differentiation from each other and show development of their character.  Even if it's just limited to a select list of feats like more non-combat or flavor type feats, it would help character classes that normally don't get a whole lot of ASIs to work with and provide more flavor for the characters in general. --- If I seem like someone who'd be a good fit for your group, I'd love to hear from you and I'll respond when I'm able.
