Hello Everyone, I’m planning on GMing a Dresden Files Accelerated mini-campaign starting in the next couple of weeks, Session Zero plus 4-6 sessions, on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month, starting at 6:30 PM Pacific time, probably 3-4 hours long each session. I’ll make a formal announcement soon. Post your interest here. /Matt The Pacific Northwest, 2017 Once upon a time, vampires, Red Court vampires, evil monsters all, drank blood....bright red blood. They used mankind as mankind used cattle. That is, those they didn't turn into monsters like themselves. For centuries, even millenia, they fed on humanity, not only gaining sustenance, but also power, wealth and influence over their prey. Nearly eighteen years ago, the Red Court went to war with the wizards of the White Council. It would prove to be their most foolish and costly mistake. Not quite seven years ago, all the Red Court vampires died. All around the world, their hearts exploded out of their bodies. And The War ended. In the aftermath of the death of the Red Court, even more blood was spilled and more puissant magic was cast. Their captives turned on the vampires' followers and tore them to pieces, their territories fell violently to other magical monsters and other factions, their wealth and influence was taken by the quick and lucky and savage in bloody onslaughts. When the dust finally settled, that's when the rumors of how the Red Court actually died flew fast and furious. Some say God finally did something to stop the vampires. Some say the vampires messed with the wrong wizard. Some say they all died because of what happened in Chichén Itzá (and why Chichén Itzá, of all places?). Whatever really happened, it was definitely magic that did the trick. If anyone knows the truth, they're keeping schtum about it. All those centuries of bloodletting, ended, finally, with magic. Blood and magic. Magic and blood. As dangerous a combination as a crate of sweating dynamite in the back of an out-of-control pick-up truck, barreling down a wild, mountain road, heading for a hair-pin turn. And the spark that will cause that final dangerous mixture of blood and magic to explode, all have to do with the lost treasures of the Red Court. Just like the rumors of how the Red Court died spread like wildfire, so did even more rumors of where their hidden treasures was. Lost into bank accounts or underground vaults? Taken by dragons or corporations? No one knows what happened to it all, but that vast wealth was just waiting for the right clues, the right person, to step forward and make someone very, very rich or very, very dead. Bram Stoker was right: “It is a strange world, a sad world, a world full of miseries, and woes, and troubles. And yet when King Laugh come, he make them all dance to the tune he play. Bleeding hearts, and dry bones of the churchyard, and tears that burn as they fall, all dance together to the music that he make with that smileless mouth of him. Ah, we men and women are like ropes drawn tight with strain that pull us different ways. Then tears come, and like the rain on the ropes, they brace us up, until perhaps the strain become too great, and we break. But King Laugh he come like the sunshine, and he ease off the strain again, and we bear to go on with our labor, what it may be.” You received a letter yesterday. It looked like someone printed out an email, one of those crazy Nigerian Scam emails. It promises a billion dollars, all from the lost coffers of the Red Court. But you have to go to Odinville to get it. Odinville, in the Pacific Northwest, neutral ground, even during The War. No one breaks the peace there. Well, no one who wants to live long. You're not fooled. A billion dollars isn't going to be easy to get. Odinville, blood and magic. Somebody's gonna get hurt...... Welcome to Odinville ....... Dresden Files Accelerated: Odinville is a short campaign using the Dresden Files Accelerated rules published by Evil Hat . The game will have a Session Zero (character creation) as well as 4-6 sessions. Sessions will be on the Second and Fourth Friday of the month, at 6:30 PM Pacific Standard Time (GMT-8).
