Late May 2946 Now fleeing south, the heroes saw flashes of light on the boughs of a nearby grove of trees. The harsh sound of orc horns rang out, and humanoid figures were quickly moving west towards Mirkwood. Radril began hearing a bell ringing in her head that no one else could hear. Closing on the flashes, Radril and Fosco along with Skari and Hauz, came upon a female elf hunched over a human male lying face down in the road. All around her, there were dead orcs, and two of the nearby trees were charred and still smoking. Radril moved forward to help going so far as to grab the black arrow protruding from the man’s back despite the presence of glowing letters in Black Speech. Unable to read it properly, all Radril made out was the word “Hirgond.” When she grabbed the arrow, the world went black and white. Fosco and the others appeared as mere ghosts. Looking down, the figure in the road seemed to be fading into view getting less and less ghostly and more and more “real.” Just as the figure about to seemingly fully transition into her vision, Fosco slapped Radril and brought her around. Seeing the effect of the arrow, Fosco carefully tried treating the wound. The female elf, dressed as same as the male human in a dark robe with sky blue interior, urged the Party to flee to a nearby ruined watchtower to use as defense. Hearing the orc horns coming closer again, all agreed and hurried off. Reaching the ruined tower, they found it partially flooded with some kind of chest lying in the water. As the listened, the orc horns grew closer and close, but then suddenly stopped. Hiding the best they could, the heroes waited while a Warg nosed his way into the tower, discovered most of the Party, and attack. Soon after, a gaggle of small Snaga orcs pushed their way passed Hauz, who was holding the entrance, and assulted the group. What flowed was a close battle that finally turned when Fosco finished off the Warg, and the Party was able to concentrate on the orcs at the front door. There, a large orc with a black bow stood. He bellowed out to inspire his crew to no use. The orcs were beaten. He and his one remaining snaga fled into the woods. In the wake of the attack, the female elf again laid her injured friend down among the slaughtered little orcs, and Radril went to see if she could help. Fosco, meanwhile, piled bodies in the water to distract the biting fish of the pool planning on investigating the sunken chest.
