Centuries ago, a magical barrier popped into existence in an area known as the Southern Highlands. The barrier permitted no person, object, or even sound to cross. Wizards, Clergy, Brawn and Brain all tried, but nothing crossed the barrier. Even teleportation and divination magics were completely blocked. Eventually it was given up on and people were forced to grow accustomed to the barrier. Ceremonies were held annually for those trapped inside, allowing the Trapped to see their loved ones and families. That is until the year the Trapped went missing. No one knows for sure why. The festivities have continued, but with a darker tone and less and less attendees. Now on the festival's 500th anniversary, few remember the origin or why they are celebrating. In fact many believe it to be celebrating the creation of the barrier as folk tales have sprouted across the years. But it is on this day, exactly 500 years since the barrier appeared, that with but a small flash, the impenetrable force that has stood for half a millennia, popped out of existence.       After 3 months of scouting, reports are back that the land seems habitable. Now a small group of settlers gather at the Mountain town of Duvik's Pass, intent on taming the Southern Highlands and laying claim to its land, wealth, and long forgotten treasures. You are one of these settlers, either through choice or conscription. Your group is set to arrive at Dunland Tower in late Fall with 6 months of provisions granted by the Korvosian Council. From there, what you do with your life is your call..  ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello there! If the above story wet your appetite for adventure, please read on!  Otherwise this is just the boring technical section of the post. I am an experienced GM with 16 years of tabletop experience (7 of which I have been almost soley GMing) and  I am looking for a couple players to pull into a new campaign I will be starting with an existing group. Together they have endured 3 of my campaigns so far. We have played using pathfinder and 5e rules, but this will be our first venture into the new PF2 rules. So come prepared but expect mistakes! Most content of my games straddle a line between PG-13 and R. The existing group members are in their 20's-30's. The game is set to take place in Golarion, but in a re-imagined area. So lore, religion, cities, people, and regions should all persist. The planned game is somewhat linear, but with choices and decisions along the way that will have lasting impacts. I also plan to allow players a decent amount of downtime to pursue crafts or professions and RP in a very sandbox style. We play using Discord and Roll20 and games are usually weekly on Saturdays from 1pm-5pm CST. That said, I try to be flexible with players schedule and we do move things around sometimes to accommodate everyone as best we can. Some sessions will also go longer as I try to find an organic stopping point, but I try to remain respectful of everyone's time. I plan to run a few one-shots over the next couple months to get everyone used to the system and so players can get to know one another, with the campaign starting in earnest somewhere between mid-December/early January. I'm specifically looking for 1-3 players who are adventurers at heart and want to become involved in a story that evolves around them. Be mature, responsible, and reliable and realize we are all just trying to have a good time ultimately. Be invested in learning the game and be ready to cooperate with the other players. So if you're interested, please shoot me a PM with any player information you want to share along with the below application for your character. (this can change after/during one-shots)  ------------------------------------  Name:  Background:  Description:  What role will you play in the town (not the party)?  Why are you wanting to travel into The Southern Highlands?  ------------------------------------
