[Weekly Downtime Thread][Summer II 1524 HC]

Please post any of your downtime activities below. You can find the full rules for downtime here . You can find last week's downtime thread here.
Agatha will spend her downtime travelling home to play some with Emily and write a letter to Dietric, telling him all about her latest adventures. From there she will travel to the Royal Library of Avanil to find as much information as she can about her new patron Explictica Defilus. Nim will spend her downtime training (leveling up if the XP allows). Other than that she will try to spend some time everday to get to know all of the Linwood girls better, trying to rotate some of her leisure activities to fit every girl's interest.
Prudence will be travelling home to Bardenhold where she will remain; she will spend her time with managing her castle and lands where she can; more just gaining some trust from her people. She would also like to start replanting some of the logged forest around her home. If Tarkus has the time she will ask him to start teaching her Anuieran (learning the language) Zentha Ianris  will spend her time copying spells from Orithar's spellbook (Learning Identify for 25gp because of Divination Savant) and levelling her skills (if xp allows). She will at one point try to see if she can invoke a dream about Nim and her fate.
Diesa Gemfire Location: Diesa travels to Baruk-Azhik in the company of 'Teresa' Eirwen, and will be paying for a Modest lifestyle while there. Research: Morrendeep and the trail of the real Teresa. Starting in the Promontory they will make enquiries with locals, Diesa translating Karamhul to Sidhelien for her. Suggest looking particularly with the Overthane's trade parties and guard/militia/watch units, seeing if any remember seeing or hearing of her sister(or someone matching the description) passing through the area. Secondly, if it's possible for outsiders to get access to a library Diesa will look in it for any stories or histories on the topics of the Khurinlach itself or the lands of the Chimera, searching for references to Morrendeep.
Hunter Layton  will be attempting to study anything the Cohort has on the Moonlight King. He will also prep a letter for Drago's trial. Hunter would also like to request an audience with the Fate Weaver. Drake Darkwood  will most likely level up to 2
Roland will make a short trip to Brechlen to do some shopping.  His primary goal is to find an interested buyer in an expensive tome he acquired during mission 1E (purloined from a wizard/alchemist's lair, rolled a 17 on a d20 for the item).  He will also sell the war axe he gained on his latest mission in the Drachenward, and purchase a new rapier and another 20 arrows.  Upon his return to the Cohort, he will spend the remainder of the week studying another book he acquired during 1E, a tome on Azrai contemplating whether or not the deity is still alive in hopes of learning more information that may be relevant to his self.
Hedrin: Will be leveling up to 3, he speaks with his master Exaban about the golden unicorn and his plans to find it in order to heal himself and no longer be a burden. He asks his master to show him how to hone his power so that he may be more successful on his journey. In his free time he will enjoy more stories from the book he found the unicorn. Korak: Has fallen into somewhat of a depression feeling he is partly responsible for the fall of Urkenhame. He makes plans of how to restore this beautiful nation and feels the need to bridge the language barrier. He will find a tutor to teach him the language of their people and will stay  in the Drachenward with them if he is allowed to do so, putting his survival skills to use while traveling with them to find a safe place for their people to call home until Urkenhame is restored.  Lolgon: Will be training to 2 and will also be writing a complaint about Mr. Darkwood nearly knocking him out to attack an enemy when it was very unnecessary to do so, and also about the blatant gnome discrimination by the others. Feeling somewhat jaded about his treatment by the other Cohort members he would take up an offer given to him 40 years ago while sailing a young griffin knight to a distant island. He goes there to see his now much older friend to spar with him and catch up with his well-being and how far he has come in the order.
Zolis will continue practicing his pole-arm drills. On breaks he spends his time in the park feeding bits of bread to birds.
Teresa Eirwen: Teresa will be travelling with Diesa and helping out with the investigation as best she can. Since she doesn't speak the local language she'll mainly be assisting Diesa, probably focusing more on things like seeing if anyone seems to recognise her on the street and the like. Teresa would be looking to try and get Morrendeep's location narrowed down somewhat, if not an exact location for it, as well as trying to gauge what sort of preparations her sister would have made to go there (if she'd been seen passing through here). Cordie: Cordie would be staying at the Cohort and spend most of her free time outdoors, trying to commune with her patron, and cultivating her power now that she better knows how it can be used. (training to level up if she's gained enough exp). She'll also try and figure out how the bug-person statue works, if possible.
Mamm Bealdaartsdotter: Will be training towards level 2.
Dragomir "Drago" Black: Is spending his time sobbing in his cell, thinking about what he has done. Tipper-Taint Rainbow-Paint: Disgusted at the treatment of his fellow gnome and comments made towards "throw gnomes into the water as Bait". Places a formal request to leave the Cohort the day after returning from the mission.  Siegfried Morton:  Will go to the closest Large city and put on street performances. Using the stories from the Cohort as Material, with Entertainer - Storyteller background and guidance + Light + Thaumaturgy to put on the best show he can. All to make a little extra coin and some good PR from the Cohort.  Orithar Trisk (level up): Gives a recommendation to the Cohort. He places all the books and trinkets he could have carried from the basement around his quarters. He will start the long and painful process of understanding the "Soul" how to split, removed and store. He will spend all his time looking over the main scroll of information found in the basement, using the background feature "Sage - Researcher" if possible to help. Using identify twice if required (100gp) pearl. He will also be coping Blur from Zentha spellbook. Taking 4 hours and 100gp.  Recommendation : The Cohort should send out a team to collect all remaining literature, information, and machinery left in the basement of her home. Martha should have no reason to keep any of this equipment and only risks endangering the lives of others around it. Once collected it should be studied. I also offer my services for this task.
Robert: Would attempt to double down on riding, asking the stablekeep of Abbatour if he would be able to teach him.Other than that, he would keep his eyes open for any attempts on his or the other Duskhart Lords Lives. Takumir: With more free time on his hands, he'd continue doing some side work. The missions didn't seem like something he'd want to meddle in this week. He's also resolved to find and join a missions this week. Shango: Shango will continue his meditations, to finally feel the wind's embrace ( and thus level up to an Four Elements Monk. )
Jannis will spend his downtime at the Cohort Arcanum, studying books on tactics and strategy, learning new maneuvers, and honing his knowledge of battle to level up and assume the martial archetype of Battlemaster.
Darvius will begin learning  Low Brecht, as a language.
Downtime is officially closed. Keep an eye out for the results!
Agatha Agatha sends her letter out, and spend some time playing with Emily who gives her another drawing. She looks for mentions of Explictica Defilus, and finds one in an old tome about forbidden forms of magic. The text speaks of how Explictica Defilus discovered a form of immortality by pledging herself to Serpentine, one of the Primordial Gods of Cerilia. However it references other material that was lost when the old Royal College of Sorcery was destroyed. Perhaps it could be found, but the sinister black smoke that still comes from the rubble of the old college building would caution her against such a task. Nim Nim successfully improves her skills during her downtime. The presence of the girls in Nim's body can sometimes be extremely distracting, especially when they start fighting over control. Whenever Nim rolls a natural 1 on a D20 she gains the stunned condition until the end of her next turn. If Nim can succeed on DC15 Wisdom Saving Throw she is not stunned. Nim gains Vos, Low Brecht, High Brecht, and Basarji as bonus languages, but only as long as the girls remain with her. They can however act as teachers (free of charge) if she wishes to learn those languages herself. Whenever Nim finishes a long, or short rest roll 1d8. Whatever number she rolls is the personality from one of the girls that is dominant that day (see below). If Nim already has expertise in any of the below proficiencies gain advantage instead. She discovers the following about the girls: Hannah (1) - Is extremely intelligent, but also very quiet. Loves reading. When you bring up any topics of literature she suddenly becomes very talkative. While Hannah is dominant gain expertise on History and Nature (Intelligence) checks. Anne (2) - Anne is constantly asking to be taken somewhere pretty. She loves talking about the beauty of the world, other people, and pretty much everything around her. She's a wonderful artist. Gain expertise on Painter's supplies, Calligrapher's Supplies, and Perception (Wisdom) checks. Nadia (3) - Nadia is extremely babyish and childish. She's extremely immature, and tends to constantly wine and complain when she doesn't get what she wants. She demands that Nim call her "Princess Nadia." She loves playing games, with toys, and other forms of entertainment. Whilst Nadia is dominant Nim has disadvantage on her Wisdom saving throws to avoid being stunned (see above). Additionally she grants Nim expertise, and advantage on attempts to pass as a Vos child. Sasha (4) - Sasha loves music, but cries easily. She's extremely depressed, and sad. She has no self esteem, and always seems to think her music is god awful in spite of her skill. She has absolutely no self confidence. Sasha grants proficiency in all instruments, and expertise on performance and piano checks. Maria (5) - Maria is extremely bubbly, happy, and friendly. She is also extremely empathetic, and great at reading the moods of other people. She does however love sweets, and will go crazy if she doesn't get what she wants. Maria grants expertise with Cook's Utensils, and Insight. However she also gives disadvantage on Nim's Wisdom saving throws to avoid being stunned if she does not get her sweets. Sam (6) - Sam has a love for the night's sky. She loves looking up to the star's and imagining what it would be like to travel the world. She has a large amount of wanderlust, but is also kind friendly, and understanding. While she is dominant Nim cannot be lost as long as she can see the night's sky. Additionally she grants both expertise and advantage on any knowledge checks (religions, history, nature, or arcana) involving the stars, astral bodies, or the moon. Esteria (7) - Esteria is strong, proud, and uncompromising. She HATES having to play second fiddle to anyone. She loves horses, and ponies especially. While Esteria is dominant Nim gains expertise on flute, history, and persuasion checks. Karen (8) - Karen is a bit of an armchair philosopher. She spends most of her time quoting great priests, and talking of the ways of Elyal. While is dominant Nim gains expertise Religion, Stealth, and Sleight of Hand. Prudence Prudence starts the efforts to rebuild the forest. A divide starts to develop in her realm. The loggers are upset with her decision, but many of the more traditional locals agree with her wisdom. The situation escalates, and Prudence receives word that the fighting in some areas has ended in bloodshed. Worse yet the Countess also receives a call to arms from the Baroness as stories that orogs are massing along the border of Roesone and The Spiderfell seem to be true. Prudence practices her Anuirean, and manages to barely get the hang of it only because she's been spending so much time ruling her domain in Roesone. Zentha Zentha practices, but doesn't quite feel she has improved her mastery of magic to a significant degree. She does however learn her new spell. Diesa Diesa discovers that Teresa had indeed been spotted some time ago in the Dwerren lands. Few dwerren folk are willing to talk much of it, but you learn from Tharune Steelshield, a local tavern keep that she got drunk in his establishment one evening began shouting "THE EYES! THE EYES WATCH MORRENDEEP!" She also discovers that Morrendeep was a long lost Dwerren fortress in the middle of the mountains on the edge of the Khurinlach, and the Promontory. Many dwarves still search for the ruin, but as of yet all parties doing so have either not found it or not returned. Hunter Hunter discovers that the Moonlit King hails from the Tuarannwn. A forest that once belonged to the sidhelien, but has since become horribly corrupted. When the Vos people attempted to push into their lands they used fell wild magic of The Primordial Gods, and the wild magic tore the land asunder. It's now full of horrible, twisted beasts, and wild sidhe. Fey roam the lands, and it's said that not even the gods of Cerilia would fair well in such place. According to the texts of The Scarlet Devil (a powerful wizard who sits on The Council of The Cohort Arcanum) the magic in the area registers as 12/12 (on a scale of 0-9). Member of The Cohort pledge themselves to The Fate Weaver, but only a few members have ever encountered her. There is unfortunately no audience to be had. OOC: Make sure you write up that letter, and get it to me before the trial. Drake Drake successfully improves his skills. Roland Roland does not manage to sell the book, and only through his quick witted actions manages to avoid arrest. The tome almost gets confiscated by the local authorities in the area. The book holds fell magic of evil necromancy. Roland gains 1 point of infamy in all Brecht lands. Roland studies the book. According to the texts of it Azrai cannot truly be killed, only his essence scattered. Of course one could say the same about any of the old gods. Rather or not he's still alive, or has the potential to return is anyone's guess. With that said he was powerful enough to fight all the other gods combined. So if any of the old gods were to have survived Deismaar he would be the one. Hedrin Hedrin improves his abilities. Korak Korak successfully learns the language of the Rjurik people, but not from the ones in Drachenward. He is given warning one eve by a little girl who tells him "The mammoth stirs, and turns its gaze those who destroyed its home." Korak wisely flees. Lolgon Lolgon finishes his training, and writes his letter. The Kallanon informs you directly that he takes such matters seriously, Mr. Darkwood will be reprimanded for his actions (-1 Renown with The Cohort Arcanum for Drake). Zolis Zolis trains, and improves himself to the next level (up). OOC: In the future if you could please make sure you're leveling up if you're doing so. I want to avoid any ambiguity in downtime actions where possible. Teresa See Diesa's downtime actions. Cordie Cordie successfully deepens her connection with her patron. The wooden idol just appears to be a religious symbol of some sort. When Cordie has more time she could look into it. Mamm Mamm finishes her training, and has definitely improved! Tipper Tipper is dismissed from The Cohort Arcanum. Siegfried Siegfried earns 72bp during his downtime (don't forget to subtract your lifestyle expenses). Orithar Orithar spends time training, learning, and improving his abilities with magic. Unfortunately this leaves him little time to research any of the items he found. Martha disallows The Cohort Arcanum from taking the items from her mansion, and during the conversation discovers that Orithar stole some items from the basement. He is informed that he will need to return the items he took, or risk facing criminal prosecution from Molochev. Robert Robert utterly fails at his attempts to learn how to ride. The stable keep is only able to offer him a discount as he still needs to feed his family (60gp instead of 90gp for the lessons). Takumir Takumir doesn't manage to find any good work this week. OOC: In the future please be more specific with your downtime actions, even if you need to state them out of character. Shango Shango finally embraces the wind, and feels her power course through his veins. Jannis Jannis increases his prowess with not just fighting, but also the tactics behind it. Darvius Darvius begins learning Low Brecht, but doesn't quite manage to grasp it.
