It's been a massively long time since I played D&D in general, around 3 years, and that was 4E. I'm looking at coming back into the game super late and was curious if there are groups that would be accepting of a player new to 5e interested in developing into a part time or full time DM of the group. My hours currently are extremely flexible and I'm not expecting that to change for 6 months or more. I am on Pacific Standard Time but my sleep cycle is wonky so overall I can work with almost anything. If the first part is doable, I have some questions about the reinvestment. I'm planning on being pretty much fully digital and wanted a review of my plans for how to put the money to the best use. Firstly, with Roll20 itself: I was thinking I'd go with the Plus membership, but I'm curious if I wouldn't have access to the already created 5E character sheets or if the Pro level bonus is more about the ability to edit those same sheets, anyone know? In regards Sourcebooks, Adventures, and extra content, I'm looking at getting all the books and such through DnD Beyond with either a Hero or Master subscription, and I'm thinking of getting the Sourcebook bundle along with a few adventures if only for helping to sort of acclimate my own adventures in the right style, formatting, other things like that. Does anyone have any yea or nay on that idea, or perhaps maybe a few thoughts they'd like to share in general before diving in? Really, I'm just looking to see if the community has a place for me, and what advice current players and GM's might offer to someone making a return with big dreams. :) Thanks in advance for all responses, I've missed the game and the friendly creativity it fostered in me. Note: I'll be updating my profile and other stuff as I go, just getting my toes wet currently.
